This is why I am sticking to WoW PvP. It is fun, engaging, and is not hacked to death.
What PVP? I didn't even know WOW got PVP
Anyway - as for combo skiping with G15 - i had few friends playing on G15 and noone mentioned they could pull it off, nor did i noticed anything like this happening during my 2 years play with my regular keyboard. Either it involves something tricky on top of regular combo or i don't know. I never looked for it cuz as much as i consider cheaters idiots with inferiority complex - i'm not interested in cheating myself. Multiplayer game is only interesting when same rules apply to everyone.
Anyway - friends say that good mages still own "combo-skipers".
As for FunCom's policy - i believe they will only loose people by ignoring cheats like that, especially in such PVP-oriented game that is especially sensitive to "same rules apply to everyone"... Too bad some of the promising "similar" PVP games are still in development..

AoC is not a PvP oriented game but a PvE oriented game,PvE has always been the main foucus

How do you know?
PVP and game for more mature audience was always key advertising points. More mature audience supposedly don't grind same monsters over and over just to grind em better - they see it as means for improvement in PVP.
Don't care about "PVE only" anyway, it's too bad it define the market - tyhere's 10s titles for grind fest idiots already

There is a reason why the PvP'ers in AoC have been asking for more PvP based content, its not hard to know. They advertised PvP ,so what?they had PvP servers ofcourse it gets mentioned as PvP is not standard in most MMO's, They also advertised PvE...Next to that it is even what funcom themelves say about it.Im very sorry but PvP + more mature in the same sentence when it concerns AoC makes me laugh a bit :P
Have you ever seen the behaviour of the PvP guilds that transfered over to the PvE servers to farm bori ? It does not get more childish then that, Even today it is stil going on.No the PvP'ers are not more mature in general the more likely thing is that the oposite is true.
Can't help but hear from old buddies that still play AOC about mass use of cheats ($ program) that allow skiping combos (which mean you can instantly finish combo instead of doing all 3 attacks of a serie). Not sure how many people use it, but even few is enough (especialy if you play minis vs same ppl).
Also the fact that people who cheat are banned only for 1 week doesn't help it either.
Another thing i noticed myself during re-trial - about every 1 of 3 characters running around are either assain or ranger and they own - sins kill mages easily (especially necros which are quite weak now) and rangers that can 1 shot mages and cause insane amounts of damage. This i witnessed personally.
So how bad is it now?
I'd like to hear those who PVP a lot of course (especially on Fury server) as i am no longer active player but sometimes thinking of returning...
Alex, I will give you the facts about Fury server.
1: Ruscorp quit because of Bori
2: Futilez quit because of Bori
3: Nastrandir quit because of Bori
4: Some players exploited perhaps 1 years normal gametime AA's in 3 days - Funcom didn't rollback. Temp 7 day bans for a few "example" cases. New and returning players have absolutely NO CHANCE to catch up.
5: Hacking is RAMPANT - I really mean this. I know this for certain, because I know the person who wrote the code, and I also know exactly what it can do. I also know that this code was "given" to the community. The amount of people who now use it is staggering. And Funcom can't or most likely won't do a thing about it. They will allow cheaters to cheat, to keep their subscriptions. It's horrible, but true.
6: Fury is haemorrhaging players at an alarming rate. The once biggest pvp server of them all is dead.
7: There are pvp 10's running around with ~100 kills. PvP levels gained on nabcake pve servers by digging rocks. Good luck damaging someone with pvp10 gear and T3 buffs.
8: Minigames are full of premades who will either farm pugs, or leave if they see another premade they think they can't beat. If you join a pug, expect people to start leaving immediately. It's an utter joke and an truly frustrating experience.
9: Sieges remain broken and Funcom continue to advertise them as working content. LIARS MUCH ?
I could list a lot more that is wrong, but those problems are broad and not specific to Fury.
The game is dead as far as pvp is concerned. Funcom have essentially admitted that they are moving towards a pve game. So if you are a pvp'er. Look elsewhere. The most telling sign that pvp is dead are #'s 1-3. The three most massive pvp guilds on the server simply walked away because of Funcom lies, deceit and false promises as well as Bori. Which was the straw that broke the camel's back.
Thank you for your honesty in this. I remember back in the day when we were begging for a RP-PVE server so we wouldn't have this sort of problem. Devs refused to give the PVE crowd their own RP server. While it pains me to see Fury die, because I had friends who played there, it's bitter sweet that the RP-PVE crowd was proven right at the end of the day. With Funcom moving toward a PvE game instead of PvP is a stunning development. So many of the "time sink" type elements were pretty much ignored so they could focus on PvP and combat, combat, combat... it brings a smile knowing that at the end of the day a game can only live so long on PvP because after a while, 99% of the players will quit because of the 1% that will do anything, including cheating/exploiting, to win.
Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:
"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."

A good example about mature/immature. I can't realy imagine some "more mature" players RP-PVEing...
Grown up auditory is interested in game mechanics. Only PVP need advanced/balanced mechanics. You don't need much brains or skill to kill NPCs- PVE is so much more simplified and primitive compared to PVP you don't even use half of the features game has to offer. Not mentioning lack of real challenge. So yeah - i guess PVE'ers are happy with everything as it is.
Most offline RPGs are way better at PVE than all of the mmorpgs all together.
As for "99% of the players will quit because of the 1% that will do anything, including cheating/exploiting, to win." - PVP people play it for 2-3 years, get everything out of it, score like 30000 kills, get all items, master everything and that's it - as long as there's no new content they just find other things to do because this game is not endless you know. For normal people that is.
It takes 2-3 months, maybe 5 to get to endgame in PVE. While PVP people play even after that (for PVP reasons) - in PVE your 80 level is the end of the road. If bunch of "strange people" keep playing PVE it after that...well, i guess i never knew how bad it is...
Will the crown of chieldren ever grow up a little and let em make some real non-carebear games? Or is it too much hoping WOW would get em all...

Good points Alex. I would however concurr with Shannia regarding the cheating that goes on in AoC. For my part, it was exactly this that made me walk away finally. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that the lack of action by Funcom on the cheaters made me finally walk away.
The AA exploiting that went on in Khitai instances was massive. I have neither the time nor inclination to be playing perpetual catchup with a bunch of cheats. Nor do I have the inclination to reroll male characters just so I can comboskip effectively. Funcom did a good thing when they rolled back and severely punished pvp level exploiters in the past. It beggars belief that they allowed the Khitai (Pagoda in particular) exploiters to go unpunished.
Such a shame that we had almost the ideal game in 1.04 (couple of tweaks needed, vets know what I mean) and yet now it's all gone belly up.
