Looking for good mmo

detlikdetlik Member Posts: 76

Hi everybody,

I am pretty much hyped out for FFXIV but as I hear more and more about it I am begining to be afraid that it wont be game for me. I left mmo scene a pretty much long ago and I want to return back so I am asking for tips on games (dont matter if its free or sub) but I would want game that has large and/or good playerbase.

You need to be more specific, what are you after from an mmo?

    Fallen Earth

Single-server world, indie-made MMO, so rough around the edges but can definitely see the potential it has with every patch.

Not a ginourmous community, but whats there is really strong, lots of community run events, and prob some of the best customer support available in an MMO.

And they have a free trial atm so you can see if it'd be for you without having to drop 30bucks on the full-account.

I knew I would live to design games at age 7, issue 5 of Nintendo Power.

Support games with subs when you believe in their potential, even in spite of their flaws.

Well, at mmo I like atmosphere, story and good playerbase.

well, then if i were you i would probably still stick with ff14 or try lotro, it is not f2p anyway

If you haven't tried the juggernaut, get yourself a WoW trial. I'm not into it anymore, but there's a reason that umpteen million people still play the thing.

Main thing that bothers me on FFXIV is that I will be able  to do only very limited quests per two days. You can call me no-lifer whatever you want but I simply want to do more quests than 8 per two days.(This told me my friend who plays beta, sorry if this information is wrong.

i would suggest lotro ...many quests nice story and very beatifull world! But at late game this game really LOOSE!!!

I mean ok instances and skirmishes are fine but just fine...games need pvp to keep ppl at late game.

If you want to play a game for 5-6 months this game is rly good but after that is boring. If you have money to spend

try AION , it has a bit of grind but after the expansion quests give more exp so they fixed it a bit. AION wins everything at late game imo .

AOC is good but a bit dead...

I have been playing for almost a year and I still love LOTRO and I have not touched the PVP

Not everyone needs or wants PVP

Given that you are looking forward to FF i'll take it that pvp doesn't float your boat. In that case you are probably best off trying lotro.

Aion might be a good choice now with the recent expansion, EVE if you're looking for something really quite different. (its an acquired taste though) are the the two that come to mind.

I already played and kinda get bored from EQ2,AOC,Lotro and WoW,Fallen Earth too but it has heavily lagged at launch. But now I cant decide between Aion and FFXIV, I wouldnt doubt for second FFXIV if there wouldnt be that new exhaust system. I agree I spend too much time at computer (5 hours a day) but I simply want to do more than 8 quests per two days and dont want to have xp limited for 8 days. (This info is from buddy that is in beta, so I am not sure if its one 100% accurate). But please could someone help me to choose between Aion and FFXIV?
