Thinking about finally trying Aion

detlikdetlik Member Posts: 76

Hi everybody,

I want to try new mmorpg and I never tried Aion and now with few shops that have discounts with new expansion I have few questions before buying :

Which EU servers are most populated and which one have best community?

How was resolved the famoust money farmers problem?

Was the problems on launch resolved?

How is playerbase in general doing?

Is there housing in Aion?

Any interesting things in Aion that are nowhere else?

I cant think of a better time for you to try Aion. 2.0 has just been released and the game is better than ever

All EU servers are equally populated since the merges, but you may want to check the ones who are mostly populated by players of the faction you choose.

There are almost no bots in game, i for one havent seen one in months, and the gold spammers are all absolutely gone, not a single ad in the chat now.

All the crash and lag problems of launch are solved and the game runs perfect in every sense.

The players are in general grouping for dungeons and pvp or pvping in the abyss. And ofc questing on their level areas.

There is no housing for now, but according to the video released some months ago there will be, and very complete from what the images shown. It's a matter of waiting, I for one think it wil come on the next "expansion" wich will not take as long as in other games for sure.

There are many good things in Aion, why dont you test it for yourself?

I can't give you feedback on EU servers or population as I'm an NA player.

But, the gold farmers, botters, and spammers have been removed for a couple months. This issue has been dead for quite a while now. These complaints are almost a year old now and have no ground to stand on, don't let them scare you away.

If by launch problems you mean the botters, the queues, and whatnot, all those issues have been solved for the better part of a year now.

The playerbase is doing great. It's been growing since 1.9 and really has seen an increase in both new and returning players since 2.0 has gotten close and finally launched.

No housing in Aion yet, but it obviously something they want to incorporate as it was seen in the Vision trailer. Maybe the next expansion?

There's plenty of unique things in Aion you won't see anywhere else. The quality of visuals, the constantly improving flight system and how you travel the new zones with gliding and windstreams, the type of PvPvE content, and the polish that Aion can deliver while still providing a solid gaming experience.

I am very happy subscribing to Aion and don't see me leaving anytime soon. Sure, I'll check out the new games like Guild Wars 2, Rift, and TERA, but I am more than happy with Aion. Come take a dive in and check out the new Atreia! Look forward to seeing you ingame.

Aion ain't that bad as people say but it's grindy and abyss it's a bit lame if you aren't a mage or ranger overall it's decent

To those saying there aren't any botters around. Damn you are naive ...

I Play Aion since CBT, currently playing on the Zikel/Vaizel server's.

I placed all my hopes in 2.0, and am still checking

Dont believe it is the best choice at the moment... Are still trying to balance the servers after merge.

My personal opinion is "Wait the release of TERA/GW2/Berkanix etc..."

Do not waste your time with unbalanced servers, low content endgame, insane grind.

Only thing that keeps the players are the friendships and waiting for release of other games

I'm not sure how Steam handles the localizations. I'm not sure if they strictly sell or NA, base it off your account location or what. Every MMO I bought off Steam just assumed I was a NA player.

Hm...the 2.0 is expansion or patch? Because if on steam is NA version then if I would want to buy it and it would be expansion the question is where?

  • ElectriceyeElectriceye Member UncommonPosts: 1,171

Well they call it "free expansion". Even though you can actually buy it with the original game and get some fluff items/pets with it, you don't need to. You can download it, but it will take a while to update 'cause you have to download a few gigs worth of patches.

And if I live in europe/czech republic where could I download from directly the expanded Aion? I am not sure what version is on steam, and on D2D it can be purchased only from UK

When you buy any copy of Aion, you'll have access to the expansion for free. You can buy a plain Aion box, or one of the Aion: Assault on Balaurea boxes. The expansion boxes cost more and they give you access to some of the new pets. If you don't care about the pets, buy just the regular Aion box.

No matter what version of Aion you buy, you get access to the expansion. As far as which retailer sales a UK or US version, I'm not sure, I've never had to buy a copy of the game specifically for my area or location.

They are few and far in between. I've ignored tops of two people since my return. Granted it's probably dependent on your location ingame, but once they start spamming, they're gone again. Bots on the other hand are nonexistant.

Edit: I actually have a block of Tillamook sitting next to me right now. Don't ask why I have cheese on my desk, but it's there, haha.

I've seen that damn name, Tillamook, all kinds of places before I moved to Portland earlier this year. Now it all makes sense. smh.

Of all the games out now, I would recommmend this game. Graphics, lore, customization, and an exciting combat system are a few things this game can offer. I still get the whisper on occasion to buy gold, usually a poor souls' stolen account, but I just block them.  All problems at launch were fixed. There is lots of activity these days on all the servers and I have no problems finding groups. No houseing but I'm sure its coming soon.  I guess the unique thing in Aion is the wings. The flight was not too impressive at first but with the lastest patches its definitly alot better.  I would recommend it and if you are EU try the oceanic server as they will better suit your hours.

You'll probably have more luck if you try asking on the EU forums. I know a lot of the active people that visit these forums are NA based and can't give an accurate assessment of server population in EU.

AionSource.com or try the official Aion EU forums.

Your account was hacked while you didn't use it? Check when it was last payed for if that matches your records.
