hey guys, I quit playing WoW about 2 months ago and I am in serious Need of a new game, currently I am trying out 5 MMO's (some Free some not, that is not the issue i dont care if they are f2p or pay2play) I Really like PvP and competitiveness in my MMO's but its not all i care about.
Here are the games:
1. Age of Conan
2. Runes of Magic
3. Warhammer Online
4. Allods Online
5. Guild Wars
I am leaning towards either Warhammer online or Allods online I like both a lot, I really like guild wars but i HATE the fact that when you go out in the wilderness it is instanced off from everyone and you can't run into another player when out exploring. That right there is a deal breaker for me it ruins one of the best elements of MMO's, running into other players in the wilderness is awesome and they stripped it out. But anyway those are the 5 im looking at, if anyone has a suggestion for a game not on the list I am willing to entertain the idea and check it out. so any insight would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!

AOC is hands down the best of the ones you have listed. Guild Wars is great but dated.
Aoc or warhammer...
I was gonna sub AoC, but then found the warhammer trial and decided to just kill time with that one.. PVP is pretty good in that game.
"When it comes to GW2 any game is fair game"
Dude, just pick the one you like the most. Personally I think AoC is the worst game on the list but the above poster thinks its the best so it doesn't really matter what we think.
I'd just play the ones with a free trial or "free to play" *wink wink* first. If those ain't right, just choose one of the subscription based ones.
Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)
Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)
I'd go with AoC if you're looking for something PvE oriented. It's nowhere the steaming pile it was at launch. I personally didn't like WAR but if you're looking for something more PvP oriented with a dash of PvE, that's probably the game you want.
They both have trials, so give them both a go.
I just read LOTRO is free 2 play now, maybe Ill check that one out too
I should mention, Community is very important for me, I love socializing and running into people out in the wild, how is the PvP and community in LOTRO? im kinda interested in it all of a sudden
I'd have to agree and say AoC over War. Looks great, runs well, and has that classic mmo feeling most of the time.
Of course my opinion on War is a bit skewed, as recently went back for their 10 day return period. I had a problem transfering my old character off a dead server, it kept "failing". I opened a support ticket, but it wasnt answered before the 10 day period was over. I just couldnt see paying for virtually no support.
PvP in Lotro can be fun but it is simply not the focus of the game and many find it lacks a lasting experience. It is called PvMP Player versus Monster Player where you can create a PvMP playable only orc/spider/warg versus the player characters of higher level, check out the site for more info of course. Generally skirmishes and keep takeover with some boss battles.
The community however is probably the best I have ever encountered and while many people will find fault with some aspects of the game the community is generally accepted as one of the more helpful and mature gaming populations.
At any rate it is 'free to play' now so check it out.
mehhh just found out LOTRO isnt free for 2 more days.... I just can't decide damnit!! any games i did not have on that list that anyone could suggest will be seriously considered
Age of Conan for sure if you think it's your type of game. Warhammer would be second place but it's a hard game to recommend.
1. Age of Conan is a very good game.
2. Runes of Magic, quite fun, probably the best free to play in my opinion other than perhaps Atlantica Online. Extremely similar to WoW in gameplay and pacing and classes and many other ways.
3. Warhammer Online, I love the PvP from T1 to T3, but the endgame is a completely worthless wreck.
4. Allods Online, only played it slightly, seemed ok enough but wasn't really for me.
5. Never played, no opinion.
I would tell you to go with Age of Conan if you are looking for something long term. If you are looking for something temporary and fun then Warhammer Online is a good game for that, you can quickly dive into PvP even from level 1 and it is fun until you ding level 32 and hit T4 at which point the game completely breaks down.
