Drop the next-gen marketing and people will argue if the game itself has merit.
Race: Miqo'te

Objectivity is delivered with a lack of personality made for the mainstream but never used for the mainstream.

Craft:Mining, Botanist, Goldsmith, Weaver, Alchemist (and possibly more, I usually play as Dedicated Crafter)
Class: Thaumaturge

I won't be playing at launch. Crafting is absolutely baffling, no AH and the grind are all deal
breakers for me and they managed to RUIN fishing, my favorite relaxation activity in FFXI.

Hmm, the Elezen seem to be the least played race, by a lot.

Because you aren't grossly off-topic. Idiot.

Hyur or Miqo'te
For Crafting... not sure I suck pretty much at all of them. i'm going to do all the harvesting though for sure!
For Classes All the Disciples of War.I kinda suck at magic so I dunno....
You wanted my time, so I played you. You wanted my money, I forked it over. You wanted my soul, I gave it willingly. Not to complain... but when do I get my end of the deal? And no, I don't want your flippin' carrot. If you can't do that give me back my youth and keep the change. Why don't you try chasing your own damn carrot for a change? I'll gladly hold the stick.
Both Elezen and Lalafell will likely be the least played race. At least in NA/EU. This goes for any games with Elves, they are amongst the least-played races but I don't really know why. Perhaps because they usually always look more effiminated than human races....but I can't say for sure, I think they are fine.
As for Lalafell, it's something completly different, odd race not very typical in most MMOs. Very interesting race though, but don't see a lot of players using them.
It looked pretty even to me. I was usually the only Hyur in all my parties. Female hyurs and female elezen. Tons of male Elezen. And armies worth of Lala's but it also depends on the servers.

Class: Thaumaturge with a hint of Conjurer for support spells. Maybe Marauder once I've maxed out my initial class and can easily make top tier equipment.
Craft: Alchemy, goldsmithing, and weaving. Probably mining for collection missions.
Race: Anything but Miqote. They look bugged in head armor and the novelty of playing as a catgirl is beginning to wear thin (yes, that's the sole reason I chose the race in the first place)
Hair color: Bright blue with yellow stripes, baby.
Yeah, I mostly saw Hyurs (m/f), a decent amount of female Elezan (males were a bit rare), couple of Roegadyn males, saw a few Lalafell males, and even less females. But that's my experience on the Selbina Server (Limsa Lominsa area)
Ah that explains it. I was in Ul'dah in Besaid. The great big melting pot of Eorzea haha =D

Probally a Mithra like 85% of the playerbase, if not a mithra a female hume.
"An MMORPG could be completely diffirent from WoW. Just look at games like Dofus, Wizard101 or EVE. But as it is, most of the Western MMOs are trying to succeed by out-WoWing WoW. It's like an army of 10 sports games made about same sports, and barely none about other sports. WoW clone is an accurate description of those games, it manages to convey much information with only two words."
