Need for Speed World devs have announced that the game now has eclipsed the one million registered user mark. To celebrate, the game is now fully open to all players and devs have an aggressive plan for more features to be added in the coming months. Need for Speed World is being developed by a subsidiary of Electronic Arts called Black Box.
Need for Speed World brings together best in class action racing with an unparalleled social experience for the PC. Players can compete against their friends, family or pick from thousands of top ranked players to challenge in intense online battles and police pursuits. Gamers race the way they want in an ever expanding world that continues to grow with a constant stream of new content, cars, and features.

Do I get this right that they make the game f2p because they have so many users?? O_o
I find it hard to believe that since games normaly become f2p if they dont have many subscribers.
Ah very cool. I always loved playing hot pursuit with friends. Will definitely check this out later. Works with the same EA account I made for Bad Company 2.

Here we go throwing out meaningless numbers again. The single player game is so much better, not sure why anyone would play this one. If you try to tell me you like the competition against live players, consider the item shop gives racers real advantages so it is not so much skill, but how deep your pockets are.
jah 1 million registred users but 90% of them can't go over level 10 and are not very amused about that....
This game sucks! The "free to play" version is not more than a demo version. By the way the game doesn't give value for the money.
So no more level 10 cap?
Could we stop reporting "registered users" as any kind of news. Everyone fully understands that type of term means absolutely nothing.

Registered users is NOT news nor impressive. Everyone knows that almost every game in existance has something like 10million + registered users a year after launch. Guess what, only a small fraction (maybe 1%, but that's generous) of those registered users are actually playing the game with an active subscription or with any interest.
What a pathetic game if it's only gotten 1million registered users at this point in it's existance.

pretty good race expirience in my opinion!
All i have to do is wipe the green projectile EA just launched in my face, never again will i blindly buy into one of EAs mmo's.

Ah, good news, I'll be giving it another chance then. I was interested in the game, but then when I realized just how low lv.10 is, that interest faded fast. Reminded me of POTCO, where you hit the lv.7 cap before you even get started, so it doesn't even work as a free trial, nevermind have any right to call itself free to play.
When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.
WOW what a waste of money for those of us who paid 20 bucks... They should give it back then.. This is why people won;t spend money anymore because companys rip off the people who preorder..
