So it seems the people behind this game decided to throw some decent advertising at it, with a commercial set to air during Family Guy this Sunday. Apparently this ad will just be the trailer posted below.

and incase you think i'm making this up lol

Thought this was mention worthy mainly because there hasn't been many mmo's to go after the mainstream with TV ads, really only one comes to mind, and personally I think that alone had a lot to do with it's success.
So what do you think it will do for this game?
I would expect to see a pretty good hike in the population after this Sunday, weither it generates continued interest is another thing though, and that mostly depends on if they forked out the cash to continue running the ad regularly, if they did that then we might just have a new "soon to be king" MMO on our hands.
That is if they got the point across to some people who might not know what they are trying to say with this commercial, probably could of stressed the "free to play" and "no purchase needed" part a little more lol (and yes we all know it's not exactly free, so no need to go down that road).

WoW was only one of two MMOs that have done commercials as far as I know, the other was Star Trek Online; I can't remember if any of the older MMOs did that, though Star Wars Galaxies might have. The commercial certainly can't hurt at all, and maybe they'll see a bigger percentage of new subscribers than Dungeons & Dragons Online did.
"Oh my, how horrible, someone is criticizing a MMO. Oh yeah, that is what a forum is about, looking at both sides. You rather have to be critical of anything in this genre as of late because the track record of these major studios has just been appalling." -Ozmodan
I thought that WAR had some UK TV adds though the more I think about it the more I think I might have mis remembered.

What is a cynic? A man who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.
