Need few questions answerd

hey just need a few questioned answered. got a trial account currently still debating if i want to purchase the game or not, main thing is i keep reading mixed comments about the current game, mainly pvp, people keep saying how bad the match making is on mini games (pugs always meeting premades) and siege fights being bad (not sure why once read it's because of serious buggyness). my questions are:

*how is the pvp, by this i mean world pvp outside of mini games

*mini game pvp, is it as bad as i've read, the match making sucks or is it once every 10 games you meet premade?

* shrine of bori i've read alot of bad comments how easy top guilds get pvp exp ect, can you still go here solo and compete for nodes or do you get insta gibbed by guilds running around? also the buff i read about, you only get this if you control something in bori?

*how "hard" is it to get competeative in pvp, i mean as in gear, will i find it seriously frustrating getting geared up and how so? bori being bad for solo? mini game match making being unbalanced and always facing premades?

*pve, how hard is the current content and how easy is it to get into a topish guild, main reason i ask this is after pvp i still want to do some pve but unsure how guilds recruit in AoC, do they accept only top geared players or will they accept semi ok?

*final question, how big apart is crafting/craftable items in AoC, such as made weapons ect, do they compete at all with raid gear and pvp gear? asking this as i read on the site dropped items have the same stats as crafted but crafted have gem slots, but then i think to myself why do people raid if they can craft the items?

please try answer with unbiased views, read alot of comments about the game just need to come to final decision, thanks for reading.

    1. There is world PvP only on PvP tagged servers. You can see what is what in the server select screen.

    2. The matchmaking is what it is. Sometimes you meet premades, sometimes you don't, just depends how many people are in the queue. It is quite gear based though, so if you meet a group in tier raid gear, and you are in quest gear, you will die.

    3. Bori just really depends on whos in the zone and what server you are on. It will vary heavily by server on if a lot of guilds are out fighting for control. Sometimes you will get murdered solo, other times you can run around and gank.

    4. PvE is fairly easy, a little harder in Khitai then the rest of the world, but you can solo from 1-80 if you want. However, if you chose to do that you will miss a lot of really cool content and dungeons. Guilds are just based off whatever, some guilds are all PvE, some PvP, some are a mix. Just browse the AoC forums to find one that fits your play style. Most however do not seem to have a strict recruiting method. The community, especially on servers such as Wicanna, is rather mature and older, so you can find a lot of laid back guilds as well.

    5. Crafting is ok for armor and weapons. There are sets called culture armor, which are extremely nice sets but take a lot to create. Most people carry several sets based on what they are doing, some raid stuff is nice as a set, but not always the best in all situations. There are also full PvP gear sets as well. Things like food crafting however are extremely nice as the crafted consumables are better than anything you can get off drops.

    1. On the NA servers you have 2 Pvp servers that are totally different like night and day.  Tyranny is more of the cut throat, no whinnying and Cim is THE Pvp-RP server and seems to have a better World Pvp community.

    4. PvE content is easy and I only found a couple of spot's outside dungeon runs I HAD to group for.

I'd suggest since you're on the trial to make a toon on both of the Pvp servers and check out the community attitudes.  You can Pvp either in the underhalls or White Sands Island although doing either before you're a lvl 20 is probably a death sentence.

Guilds: You'll probably get random guild invites in your chat box.  If you click on the name it'll take you to an advert page that'll talk about the guild and / or have a web address to learn more.  Because of guild rankings, more is better numbers wise and some guilds will take anyone.  Going to the O-boards and reading about the guilds on the servers would be useful.

    SWG (pre-cu) - AoC (pre-f2p) - PotBS (pre-boarder) - DDO - LotRO (pre-f2p) - STO (pre-f2p) - GnH (beta tester) - SWTOR - Neverwinter

Just wanted to mention, the sort of PvP you'll find in the Underhalls and White Sands is far more brutal than the open-world PvP you encounter outside of Tortage.  At least this has been my experience - in the PvP areas around Tortage, there are groups of players who stay at level 25 just to gank the newbies leveling in the known hunting grounds.  Considering the small size of Tortage's PvP areas, and the larger concentration of twinked gankers willing to take advantage of vulnerable newbs.

Not to say the world outside of Tortage isn't harsh, but it's at least more possible to stay out of the way and survive with a bit of smarts.

aye noticed this, killed few people once i got higher lvl but the lvl 25 twinks are frustrating, doesn't bother me much as it's exspected but tbh i'm glad world pvp is there, used to play WoW during my whole 2 years of playing i've seen more world pvp in AoC than i have WoW and i was on a pvp server on WoW and now AoC.
