Hey!
I'm really wondering how many players did actually join the USA servers now they are F2P already and the EU servers wont be for at least another week.
And do you plan on staying on the USA servers?
Or are you just waiting it out by playing the USA server till EU is free?
Just something i was wondering about what players are doing atm
Thanks for you time!

Nope I would never consider this. I'm in a great kinship on the EU servers. I have a lifetime sub too.
Well I got into the US beta and have been playing that. Dont see a reason to start a new character on a EU server though.
This is why I fear that if isn't released soon, the EU population will suffer. They will lose a lot of customers to turbine.
Thats what i been thinking.
If it takes to long people will just migrate to USA and /care about EU, cause lets be fair.
EU = always a day behind updates.
But the only con i can see for USA servers is that the timezone might be to big a difference if you want to do raids.
At this moment there is welcome back week on EU servers. It means that you can start playing (if you'r new you can make trial account) same way, as you would have active sub. Everything is avaible, no need to buy stuff ...
This is good deal for all to come back and play on EU servers, even if you'r new and will use trial account, you'll still get more content as you would get on f2p US servers. Only downside is that you won't be getting turbine points for finishing deeds.
This is false !! Every trial member that starts now on EU servers will NOT get Turbine points for deeds and therefor will have wasted the entire time - and have to do it all over again on new character or BUY the content....
Best bet is to not play LOTRO at all - Turbine failed as much in this as Codemasters. The EU comunity should send clear msg that this kinda work from Developer AND Publisher is not acceptable. And the best way to do that is to leave the title alone - just dont play. And defently dont pay them a dime.
Dude, read again what I wrote. I said that it's downside that you dont get turbine points .....
But since old players have all functions, like they would pay sub, I think it's not so bad of a deal.
well if thats the case, glade to have all of you guys
Have No Fear Cohas is here!!!
me and 3/4 friends rolled on riddermark
Why blame Turbine? They obviously managed to launch on time, so obviously the code was ready. And Codemasters is not just the publisher, they are the ones responsible for translation, servers and account management in europe.
Get on the european Lotro forums and you will see most people does indeed blame Codemasters...I hope Turbine takes over the whole thing, as long as I get to transfer my lifetime sub. But we are getting quite used to be second rate customers here in Europe, same thing happened with both DAoC and WAR for instance, but they were in the hands of the mightily competent GOA...
Best handling of US/European services I actually think SOE has. One sub and able to choose US or Europe and switch whenever you want to.
Actually EU now has free welcome back week. Which is better than F2P.
And it seems to be the case until the launch of F2P
So its actually better to play at EU servers
