Some PvP Help

Dont flame dont have WoW yet, but can ya'll help me. So far i know there are two servers, normal and PvP (might be an RP but i dont really care for that personally)

Ok, someone break it all down to me. In normal servers what is pvp like and in pvp servers what is pvp like. I kinda know that you cant randomly attack people in normals servers but they have to like agree to it??? are there seperated areas for battle ground fun? PVP is it like pure havoc? i mean with alliances and hordes but like are there alot of low level corpse camping by higher levels?

im gettin the game for X-mas and just wondering what server i should start out as
