Personnally I think that is a disgusting attitude. Not everyone is cash rich. Why should someone on a low income (or a kid having to have their parents purchase as a gift), not be allowed to be a gamer? I've come across plenty of such people. They enjoy gaming but can really only afford to buy a new game once in a while. It becomes even more critial for them, when its a subscription based MMO. A badly purchsed game to them is a total loss.
He is asking for a services of selling him on the game. If he paid me some $$, I would consider taking a shot at it.
If no one plays, the game fails. Your payment (if you care about it) would be less chance of the game failing (stagnant due to lack of funding at the very least).
I don't care about this game. If you want me to act the part of a salesman or marketing guy, you need to pay me. The world isn't free you know.
so if 10% of the game is in then when its released theres going to be a flood of 90% more untested content? have fun with those bugs its already sketchy enough, have fun paying for beta. needs another 6 months of work.
