Wait and see...

Well, I've been following this game since it was first announced as Project Rapture years ago. I'm an FFXI vet and I played until 2008, then finally put my account to rest for good. I've been itching for info about this game for years and really anticipating it in the hopes that I will be able to adventure with my tight knit LS that I pretty much grew up with.

 

I won a closed beta key from eorzeapedia and got into beta. The game looked lovely and I really enjoyed the first bit of it and I was really thinking "finally what I have been waiting for!" I didn't really judge the game on its' issues at the time because it is beta, and I'm still not really judging it because it is still in beta.

 

I'm going to have to wait on this game though. None of my LS friends seem to really be interested in it anymore either. I played open beta for a bit and things just weren't looking up as soon as I stepped out of Gridania and as soon as those guildleves ran out.

 

That wasn't really what made me decide to wait on it though... the retainer system never crossed my mind since I was use to bazaars, then I actually tried to use it to buy things. While I was sitting there going through bazaars I just kind of got tired and had a sudden realization of "I really can't do this again." That, and the fact that my old LS buddies are nowhere to be found just made me pass on it for now. I've already got burnout and the game hasn't launched yet. =/

 

I'm really just sad about it, I really love the FF universe. All that time of getting excited for the game, listening to FFXIV podcasts, discussing it on forums since it was announced, etc... I'm just really sad about it. I'm not blaming the game or SE, just more of a personal thing I guess. I'm still going to check up on it though and see how it is doing after the holidays this year.

 

Anyway, just thought I would share. =P
