Who here would kill for a good Space Action MMO

Specifically an MMO in the style of Freespace and Freespace 2

Single server , giant galaxy

If they could do it right imagine a thousand ship space battle with minimal lag

Success get you faction points which can be used to buy bigger beter equip

Failuires loose you points forcing u to use cheaper stuff

 

perhaps with some captital ship warfare thrown in as well as some ship boarding shock troops to take apart enemy ships from the inside out.

and perhaps a limited crafting/tweaking market so players can tweak thier ships ever so slightly and on sell to other players for faction points etc

and a little bit of exploration for unqiue ships and technologies etc etc etc

 

Basically the core of a Fast Action Paced Space sim with a wide varitey of supported gamming sytles from exploration,crafting,espiange etc

EVE online is damn good but I play that for other reasons as it lacks a certain level of furious fast and skilled battles

    Hmmm.. i used to like space simulations when I was younger.. but I am still eager to see some good space MMO.. EVE is a great game, but i would like more action in the combat :P Something done in a way like Freelancer was done.. or good old elite :P

    its not all that you ask for, but is still a new MMO thats continually developing. Almost the complete opposite of eve-online (and IMHO in many ways that a good thing, always good to see variation in the genre).

    PvE in general is pretty lame, if you think long and hard about it. You are spending your time beating a severely gimped AI that would lose to a well trained monkey. Best not to think too long and hard why you are wasting time playing games in general actually...

    Phasics in those first five sentences you almost exactly described Vendetta Online (except for that thousand-ship battle part, I have yet to see that ;). I think you should give it a try, it may be what you're looking for.

    It's just too bad Wing Commander Online was canceled oh so long ago...

    That would've rocked.
