Impossible to download?

in Final Fantasy XIV

I have a very strong internet connection,and i've been downloading this game since 9:30 am EST, it is not 4:20 pm and I just hit 5%, what gives?

    Offhand, I'd say you picked a bad time.  A lot of people are likely downloading this game at the moment.

    However, do note htat htis forum already has a sticky thread on the top for downloading/patching issues, along with a few solutions (such a a third party site that has an alternate means to download), and also note the sticky taht says threads on the sticky topics are likely to be locked and the poster warned.

    The more people downloading it the better the speed since it uses a Bittorent method of downloading patches. I recall in a previous thread that you can actually copy the torrents and open them with a Bittorent client like uTorrent and download them that way.

    I acctually confirmed this. if you copy the torrent files from the metadata folders which resides in your FFXIV folder under "My Games" in My Documents you can open them with a Bittorent client and easily and quickly download them that way.. Currently getting 1.2MBs a second on the 4.7GB portion. After it's done, just copy the patches back into the folder in the patch folder and the launcher will detect them and update the game normally.

    launch the updater again, and it will install.

    I've never been able to use the updater.. until today.  Something fixed apparently, and it wasn't on my end.  Yay-ish.

    Objectivity is delivered with a lack of personality made for the mainstream but never used for the mainstream.
