Well, this actually isn't my first post, I can't remember what my other username is so I get to be a newbie again. It's been a frustrating day.
In any case, I'm looking for something new. First, what I have played:
UO, EQ2, WoW, FFXI, DDO, LOTRO, War, Allods, Runes of Magic, VG, Guild Wars, EvE, Champions, CoV/CoH, Istaria, Heroes of Might and Magic, and I think that's it. Oh and the old Sony Star Wars game...but let's not mention that one...ever...again..
As you can see I have played a lot of them. I am looking for SOMETHING else. I think I may be doomed to play the one game that I have been playing for the past 5 years....that ugly monstrosity made by Blizzard. But here's the deal.
I got into FFXIV beta a while ago. I wanted this game to be the end all/be all for me. But, it's not. Maybe it's because I'm older and my needs have changed, but when I get home from a hard day's work, I do not want to have to do 4000 different things to try and make a level 9 axe. There is far too much concentration and running around and it's too much of a timesink for me to enjoy. I did that in XI I just can't do that again in XIV.
So now, I'm looking. Even though I know WoW is probably going to have to be it (I'd rather give up MMOs tbh) I am looking for:
MMO's make up 90% of the grey hair in my head.

Welcome to the gang. A lot of people are in the exact same boat: (a) tried everything, and (b) dissatisfied with everything. I'd just pick one from that list you like the most and go at it. I've resorted to digging through the hundreds of browser based games hoping to find a hidden gem.
Vanguard maybe? It is at least not in your list and fit your requirements. Otherwise, wait for GW2, Rift or TOR.
You seems to have played most of the good ones. AoC might be worth a look too, it has it's good points.
join the club man. i've tried everything out there that seems remotely interesting but so far nothings sticking. i've been catching up on offline and console games that i have missed. it at least fills my time somewhat although not near as fun as being online in an exciting mmo. waiting on rift, tera, gw2, and swtor hopefully i find my next home in one of those games.
Just out of curiosity, what do you guys see in Rift?
