Talking on and off with my friend about the casters or lack of in FFXIV. He seems to think SE is holding back caster classes as right now they only have the conjurer and thaumatarge. Although I am hopeful for a different selection of casting classes, I don't SE giving us anymore on launch day. Possibly in an expansion.
I guess my question is, how does the community feel about SE cramming ranged dps, healing, buffing, debuffing, and elemental nukes into one class (well two really, believe conj buff and thaum debuff and then buff)?
I could see them putting nukes with a little crowd control. Buffing with healing. Debuffing with drain-healing. But as it is now, I feel cheated. Don't get me wrong, its one or two less classes to level up to get to the "optimal" build, but I think I was hoping for more flavor.
On a side note, give me a class like Gau from FF3 and let me leap onto monsters backs and ride them around for a minute, when I'm done I'll be the one using nutkick on the squirrels. Take that squirrels.
