So here is my quandary.
1. I like the game, I don't like its current issues. The recent interview makes it seem that many will be fixed or at least progressed on in the near future.
2. It runs like doo on my computer.
So I'm contemplating waiting till the PS3 release (at which time I'll buy a PS3 or build a new system with Sandy Bridge)
I'm curious about where the community will be at in 6 months time. I've joined many MMOs after the initial rush and the majority of the bottom was empty or filled with people powergaming their alts to the top.
I know there is the whole sideways advancement thing, but 6 months should be plenty of time for many if not most to have their key jobs as high as they'd like.
Obviously this varies per game, but I have a feeling a portion of the community will just be transfers from FFXI. Are the lowbie zones there deserted?

TL;DR
If I wait 6 months will I have been left behind?
Drop the next-gen marketing and people will argue if the game itself has merit.

And, yes, it's obvious that there will be the influx of people with the PS3. I feel they probably wont have keyboards so even if there are a lot of players it will still feel empty?

Yeah man most definitely wait for the PS3 launch. I would suggest everyone that has a PS3 go ahead and wait. Tons of benefits like further game development, more content, should have mog houses, way more info out like how to unlock certain jobs, etc.
I have two friends that I talked into waiting for the PS3 version because they were one or the other. For me I am getting PC version simply because I love MMO launches, and don't mind buying both versions. I am more excited for the PS3 version though. Once I get that I will play there 99% of the time. I may even keep the sub running on PS3 while I play other MMO's on Pc like SWTOR, Rift as they come out.
