Howdy, Stranger!

It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!

Beta accepted, not able to log in to the test site to get the client.

So yeah, I feel I have exhausted all the options. So I decided to ask if someone else have the same issue. I tried the SE support, a link that came with the Beta Accepted email. And the email I received basically said, We can't help you, if you are accepted into the Open Beta you are able to access the tester site.

I feel like they didn't believe me. I have been accepted, I have activated the code on my SE account. I did it step by step, following the instructions in the aforementioned email. I have no idea what to do now. I even got confirmation through email that the beta code had been activated.

Personally I think this is really shitty, and it doesn't inspire confidence in SE being able to support an MMO as it should be supported. I was planing on buying it, but now I feel uneasy and uncertain in SE ability to support their costumers.

Get the client from fileplanet.  Don't need an account at fileplanet.

I am pretty sure that the client is reagion based, so I need the EU one.

    Edit: Will try it though.

The client is not region based.  You set your language in the configuration program (choices are Japanese, English, German, and French) and all players log into the same set of servers.

You should still be able to download it at fileplanet or another third-party site.  I can't remember if the fileplanet one asks you your region.  Anwyays, do a few google searches for the client, look into fileplanet.. third party sites should have your answer.. most of the people I know who started at OB didn't download the client from SE...

I wonder why they haven't changed the automated email. SE is really hurting them selfs here.

I don't know what to tell you: I've got that mail, I logged into the tester site, tested the client download, and it seems to be downloading fine.

I read somewhere that people of the Open Beta would not get complete access to the tester site. Where you a closed beta tester? I really hope I can log in now :P

You don't get great forum access as a open beta tester, but the rest of the site (including the download and guide pages) is fully accessible.  If you've registered your key it should let you right in.

So this is what I did, its the steps from the email:

    1. Log in to the Square Enix Account Management System.

You can add or cancel services from the Square Enix Account Management System.

    2.  Register the registration code.

Click "Select Service" from "Services and Options" on the left menu. Select "FINAL FANTASY XIV" from the services available and then "Add a service account." Enter the registration code you've been issued and proceed to the end of registration.

Then I got the email saying thank you for using the Square Enix Account Management System. Did you have to do anything after that? The next step in the email goes:

    3.  Log in to the FINAL FANTASY XIV tester site.

All information regarding FINAL FANTASY XIV such as news, notifications, and the game manual--as well as important downloads such as the client--can be found on the tester site.

Then there is a link, that's what I used and thats where it says that I don't have a Beta Account.

Edit: BTW, thanks for the help. At least I got the client, finally. Hope I can log in...

Edit 2: The log in worked, so I guess its a test site error.
