this will be expensive

TdoTdo Member Posts: 82

this game will be expensive to take apart in without spending 1 trillion hours online , everything is costing ingame credits / gold and to get gold you need to draw your VISA or other creditcard , and playing this without an premium account is pointless , and premium account cost 2500g = 10 12 Euro's.

repair cost + ammo on higher tier tanks cost a fortune and if you are little unlucky with the battles you will end up in going - and then the only way to get credits is drawing your creditcard all over again.

You can get by easily without gold or premium. It will take you longer to get to the high tier tanks and you may have to play battles with lower tier tanks to finance the upkeep of the highest tier tanks (unless you are a very good player).

One of the mods stated there would be three package deals with the most expensive one being 100 US for 1 year of premium, 2500 gold and a premium tank.

The only things that cost gold in-game are premium tanks (which mostly suck), premium shells which aren't really needed and fast-training your crew to 100% which also isn't needed as you can get them to 100% just by playing. One last thing that gold uses is converting experience earned on a fully researched tank into "free experience" which can be used to research anything. This is what allows those with gold to climb up the tiers a little faster by skipping some tanks (just research past them with free xp) but it isn't cheap and realistically it would only be used for the bottom half of the tiers.

Even someone with unlimited gold still has to actually play and gain experience before being able to convert it to free experience so it's not like you can just buy your way into a top tier tank on release day...

One other point to consider, there is talk that the next patch will lower the repair costs. As it is now, it can be difficult to continually play with a tier 10 tank if you do not have premium. You may be forced to play with lower tier tanks and build up some credits to pay for a really bad match with a tier 10 (without premium).

No way this game is worth spending money on.  It is worthless with SPG and takes almost as much points to fix your tank as it you get for killing 10...   Bottom line it will be another wasted effort by a clever dev team taking its investors to the cleaners.

I have been playing for 6 weeks now and I dont mind the arty, sometimes its rough when they have 4 or 5 on a side but that doesnt happen all the time.

It sounds like you just stuck with light tanks which can be taken out in 1 arty shell, but if you keep moving they have a hard time hitting you.  Dont be a stationary target

lol, you can ignore this guy...

I've played many hundreds of games and the most I've ever killed is 8 in one round.

With premium and a top tier tank you pretty much break even if you get a few hits in or  a kill or two, die and lose the match.

Without premium, it's quite a bit harder to keep up the maintenance on a top tier tank if you are a crappy player.

however.... It's beta, things will likely change as they see how things are going for costs vs credit gain.

And if it's not worth spending money on, you don't have to, it's going to be F2P...

That is the problem .."Dont be a stationary Target"  that is exactly what makes this game such a Mario Go Kart Shoot Em up.  It has nothing historical other than the names of the towns and tanks.  Bunny hopping warping tanks because of lousy server rendering.  Light tanks move back and forth and circle like indians making the game a complete farse.  They should take out the historical thing and put monster trucks in it.  WWII Tanks did not fire on the fly.

You can ignore Deimarr because once it cost money he wont be playing it either.

I've not been keeping track lately as i'm avoiding playing too much until release at the moment, i've already been to multiple top tiers on both sides so burn out would be inevitable before it goes live. But, i'm rather disappointed to hear that repair costs are being reduced in the next patch. After the last one the earning money wise increased significantly to the point that it is so easy to make money in the game now that you dont even need premium on the top tanks as long as you dont suck at playing. Reducing repair costs removes even more of what little challenge there is to the game.

XP is where premium really kicks in now since the changes as when they boosted cash earnings they reduced the xp earned at the same time. It doesn't make premium a must have  but it does take away the grindiness feel. In all honesty i'd rather they cut the cash earnings a little and boosted the xp a little, somewhere between pre patch and what's in the game just now, either way its not as bad as some people claim.

lol, I will be paying for this, I'm having great fun playing it.

I've never really had an issue with arty, if you play smart, they aren't an issue. Then again, I haven't been in the low tiers for quite some time.

warping will be fixed in the 0.6 patch

most tanks in the game have horrendous accuracy if firing when moving

and you never have to spend money if you dont want to, it will be free to play. a premium account gives you 50% more XP and credits, you can still max out every tank line without premium though, it just takes longer.

Nah. Nonsense, i'm barely positive without premium on IS-7 (in Russain release). And it takes about 130 hours with premium(10$/month) + maybe 150$ so to get IS-7 really fast (IS-7 is the top heavy tank in the Russian reasearch tree). You can get top medium tank even faster, and without extra money (there should be enough credits as it is if you have premium).

That's a lie. You need to shoot extremely bad so to be in negative with SPG. People actually use SPGs so to farm money, how the hell do you manage to be in negative? 30% accuracy or something like that?

Edit: ok, not a noob, but he expects something that's unlikely to be delivered in that genre. And IMHO his ideas make a game worse for an average player. I'm not sure if they're better for hardcore player either, after all there are a lot of hardcore MMORPG players who don't care about ELO rankings or "fair" skill-based matchmaking or something like that.

What is expensive to some is cheap entertainment to others. I spend 10 dollars or more every time I go to the hambuger joint near my house. I just bought Civ 5 and that game isn't as much fun as World of Tanks is in it's Beta form. Remember this is a Beta, it is free to play. The developers are working on all the bugs the game has at the moment. The best thing about a Free game is it is FREE. If they don't continue to improve the game, add new content and maps you are FREE to move onto another game.  For those of you that are complaining about a game in development I hope you find another game because you don't have the maturity to play a game where you will get killed on a regular basis, nor the brain power to learn new tactics nor the patience  to wait for the other guy to make a mistake.

I have been playing for a while, been on the recieving end of bigger tanks, one shotted and all that. The lure for me is PVP. If I decide to play a small fast tank I know I am gonna scout for the enemy artillery, kill enemy scouts that try and do that to my sides artillery and if I live long enough light up the heavies on the other side. Sure I can be killed  with one or two shots from their heavies, but as I get better as a player I live longer and cause more havoc. I have spent my time playing computer computer generated, computer run monsters with a billiion hitpoints but now I get to test myself against real thinking( using that thinking part loosely) players.

For an estimated 10 bucks a month( probably more) you can have premium service. I think you get 50 percent more experence and credits per battle than without. If you want the biggest tanks even faster you can buy game gold  which can be converted into credits or used to convert research points. I'm sure you all want to drive the biggest and baddest tanks in the game and you want it now. For those that don't have 2 dollars to rub together unfortunatly your gonna have to work harder for it so quit crying and learn to play the tank your using.
