this video was epically true.
From video the combat in ffix has a similar appearance to combat in ffxi which is a letdown. I did enjoy ffxi for a while though because there was a lot more than combat to enjoy imho. Once FFIV comes out, I'll try it out for a couple months. Hopefully, it'll help minimize all the pain from desperately waiting for GW2.

Since this is in the GW2 board, ill refrain from posting anything that someone might consider "trolling" in response to that video. But I wish the GW2 fans the best, I hope you guys get the game you want, I have got my game in FFXIV to enjoy. All is good

Just curious.. do you guys actually find that Spoony guy half as entertaining as he is irritating? I don't mean to troll.. but I don't know why people would listen to him more than once. It's all personal preference, of course, just curious. Cheers.
Objectivity is delivered with a lack of personality made for the mainstream but never used for the mainstream.
I find him entertaining. But I don't have any attachments to either game he is pretending to review.
The guy is a hack. He didn't just review the demo he was passing judgement on the game completely. Off a single demo, he didn't even play. You can take a shit video of any game good or bad and make it look like a train wreck by playing it shitty. If he reviewed JUST the demo he would be right, unfortunately he didn't. He literally reviewed it on the worst case scenario.
He is a non contributing zero. He shouldn't be allowed to talk about video games. I would know when he stops this shit without anyone even telling me, gamers the world over would just get a little spring in their step, inherently knowing this guy isn't mucking up the gaming community.
On the GW2 side I'm EAGERLY awaiting that game as well maybe even more so than FF14. But again he ruins any enjoyment of the video or interview by being a huge, unfunny spaz. I bet he cut to GW2 footage so he could quickly suck the guy off. Someone needs to inform this guy shock value doesn't equal comedy and 'enthusiasm' doesn't equal talent.
This guy ceased being funny/clever when he stopped doing let's plays of FMV's. I normally dislike the Encyclopedia Dramadica stuff, but his EDiot site is rather accurate.
That guy grates my nerves but he was dead on about Final Fantasy 14. Looks like a snore fest....
I like Final Fantasy XIV because it's a beautifully made world which relies on player interaction be it by crafting or grouping for xp. It plays like an RPG and not an action game too which is a big plus in my book. If I wanted to play Tomb Raider I'd buy it, but I want to play a role playing game, yes one that has a simulated turn based combat system and die rolls. Why? Because that's the kind of game I like.
Never looked at it that way I guess. I will have to pay that.
Still not my cup of tea though in an online game.
I still play D&D with the good ole pen and paper!!
Spoony also has a disdain for the FF series overall and enjoys trashing the games (see his FFVIII review, for example) in order to get a rise out of fans of the series. He openly and readily admits this in one of his videos.
In other words, he does it specifically to piss off fans of the FF series for his own amusement and then puts it online.
So, not only does he go into any FF game with a bias against it, he's also blatantly trolling in video form.
Just something to keep in mind when listening to his "review" of anything to do with FF - XIV or otherwise.

I've never seen this guy until now. He reminds me alot of Ben Croshaw from Zero Punctuation. Mainly it's just his anger at games that reminds me of Ben.

he loved final fantasy from1 thru 6 and does mention it alot. he liked 7 but from 8 on he disliked.
Yes he trolls the final fantasy fans now more so when he got death threats from them (showing how far they can go) comeon one wish he got ran over by a truck full of cancer.
Although the video was somewhat fun, it doesn't mean he's really objective towards Final Fantasy games, eh, if what you say is true and he dislikes the series and purposely trolls the fans.

Okay... so he used to be a fan himself, but now has a disdain for the series and its fans overall. The end result is the same.
I've seen the video where he talks about "the creepy cosplayers" and fans that freak out if you criticize "their game", and in that same video he states very clearly he trashes the games now to get a rise out of those people.
Yes, he gets death threats from some of them and clearly finds it entertaining and not at all truly threatening... so he does it more to chide them on even further.
He does it for the yuks and, no doubt, his "coverage" of FFXIV is colored by that as well. The more he trashes the game, the angrier some fans will get, the more attention his site receives, the happier he'll be about it.
