Benchmark question

The Nvidia FF14 Benchmark tool has two settings 1. High 1920 x 1080  and 2. Low 1280 x 720....

My question is:

1. Is the only difference the resolution?

2. Do both tests use the same settings other than resolution

3. Is one HD and the other not HD ?

4. Are both using DX9,10, or 11?

5. Is there a way to tell your FPS?

Thanks!

If i recall there is a scrolling graph in the lower left, that I think is your fps...

Drop the next-gen marketing and people will argue if the game itself has merit.

So it's in DX9 .....but what about my other questions? so the only difference is video resolution? and the graph on the lower left is your score but I do not see a FPS number.....

Who knows?  However, In the Final Fantasy XIV configuration program, there are settings related to the following:

    • Window size

    • Multisampling (anti-aliasing)

    • buffer size (probably "resolution" in both Low and High)

    • shadow detail

    • texture quality

    • texture filtering

    • ambient occlusion

    • depth of field.

It is probable that some of these are set higher in the High setting, and it's not just window size that changes.

    My question is:

    1. Is the only difference the resolution? yes

    2. Do both tests use the same settings other than resolution - yes

    3. Is one HD and the other not HD ? HD is something you use to describe TV sets.  720p and above is 'high def', so both are.  If you mean different texture definition, they are the same.

    4. Are both using DX9,10, or 11?

    5. Is there a way to tell your FPS?  - fraps

    Thanks!

That benchmark is pointless. With a 9800GT, my computer scored around 1200, which, according to SE means that my computer "Does not meet specifications for running the game." Yet I was able to play the game without any serious issues.
