how do you form a guild ?

does anyone know what the requirements are for forming a guild ? cost, numbers of people to start it or any info.

Linkshell...... that's what they call them in FFXIV... but no clue how its done, (or why they call them that) just didn't want you looking like a noob.
edit: Oh yes, and higher level, larger LS's are called Companies, got that info from the "everything you want to know about FFXIV' thread.

I'll just expand on this...
A linkshell can have 128 members, there is no cost and you can join 8 at a time. There is always an npc inside the Adventurer's guild that gives you the chance to make one so just talk to everyone till you find them. They'll be standing near the center railing.
There hasn't been any information released about how to make a company yet as far as I know. I'm not sure if they are directly linked to linkshells because I think you can only be in 1 company at a time. But who knows, maybe there is a quest or something that you get to do once you have a certain amount of members.

Oh to add , has there been any talk about housing ? i heard that is was in but can not find anything ..
I don't have any links on hand currently about it. But there will be company housing. That I know for sure. 100%. Individual character housing, I haven't the foggiest.

Not sure yet, but looking at the launch servers names i like Selbina or istory names . but if there is an rp server will try that. always had great luck on my pick in servers, most time they never close or are merged. can not wait for 22nd, have 2 collector ed to pickup at gamestop ..
The Unoffical RP server is Besaid. Which is what I am rolling.

Just read that, so i guess besaid it is then, rp servers seem to have better players overall .
getting ready for this game is fun, two new email accounts for each collector set and nothing but these accounts for them, lots all my aion accounts because some gold spammer got my email pass and reset all my accounts and got me banned. but by then i had given up on aion, was just something to pass the time until this was out..

When the servers are up and toons are made we all should try and come here for a quick toon naming and se about running some quest, could be fun.
Depends on what city you start in. I've decided to start in Ul'dah along with about 5 of my friends. The other 10 are elsewhere. So if you decide to start in Ul'dah I save a party spot for you. =D

I'm kinda' leaning to Limsa. One of my first things to do (after fishing of course) is run to the other cities and not die. I got lucky in beta...wait, no I did die once... But anyway, once you get access to the three cities, it shouldn't be an issue.

I personally just use keyboard and no mouse.
But I'm sure gamepad would work well for you if you are worried about lag and the likes.

I myself can't suggest anything other than a controller. Only because that's how I play almost all my games. I use an AIRFLO which they don't make anymore, but you might be able to find one online somewhere. The only problem with those is that they don't rumble. I hear the 360 controllers work pretty well.
Since they're putting in the hardware mouse and such, I think you'll be fine with the KB&M combo though. You can change the KB config in the game. The little known thing about actually changing them is just hitting BACKSPACE. Why? I don't know, but it works.

lol , never thought of it that way, just thought i had alot of friends. i would play until i could not take the bad game anymore, and say that is it i quit and everyone leaves with me . most of those games have server merges and low pop. maybe i just can read a bad game < i hope> but i feel this will be the game for a few years , well i still most play the new starwars. but just some.
