good question, since most of us are not going to get our copy until it is delivered or go pick it up on the 22nd. since only collector eds get in then and you get a hard copy. but i guess it will allow any that get them on the 22nd can start and through the day all will get logged in.
I think it has to do with staggering based on Japans time. I'm not sure though. = you can pick up a regular CE but I heard you don't get the bonus item that way.
I haven't looked in stores yet. If I find it I'm buying it, my character won't look good with the onion helm anyway.
You wanted my time, so I played you. You wanted my money, I forked it over. You wanted my soul, I gave it willingly. Not to complain... but when do I get my end of the deal? And no, I don't want your flippin' carrot. If you can't do that give me back my youth and keep the change. Why don't you try chasing your own damn carrot for a change? I'll gladly hold the stick.
.... my character won't look good with the onion helm anyway.
I kind of thought the Onion Helm looked a bit...meh..but what the hell. Until something better comes along I'll wear it.
I tried it during the event. Most awkward moment ever.. The lala's rocked it though.

When I die, I'll find someplace private and hide while I wear my onion helm. It is like the helm of shame.
The wait is around 2 minutes instead of 5 so at least you won't have to wait too long Not that it ever felt long before o.o

If the other side of the world starts 14 hours ahead of us (us = USA), depending on the mechanism for the patcher maybe there will be 500K folks seeding our (USA) updates.
Yeah... 1800 PST Sep 21 = 0400 JST Sep 22nd. So they ARE releasing on the 22nd like they said, they just meant "if you live in Japan."
Alot of what SE does has that adlib "If you live in Japan..." they just don't tell anyone.

Itchmon, what Edeus is trying to say is that it's IMPLIED that Square Enix is talking to the Japanese audience first.
We share the same servers around the world, so since there is a huge time difference across all time zones, they can't exactly start the game on OUR 22nd, which would be the 23rd in Japan, and that wouldn't work.
But they can prevent us from joining too early by not shipping out the game until midnight or later in the US.
So any announcements from now on for maintanence or holiday events will probably be posted in JST, (Japanese Standard Time) and PST/PDT (Pacific Standard/Daylight Time), and us Americans can "adlib" and automatically add the thought of "If you live in Japan, this occurs here first because of the time zones"....
The best example of adlibbing would be the fortunes in Fortune Cookies. Read it, then at "in bed" at the very end, and the whole thing makes more sense that way!
Every MMO company should have a policy that they should ship pre-orders a good 3-4 days earlier from when the servers open up. I am relitively sure the CE and even the regular edditions are probably sitting in some warehouse right about now.

Great news. I was hoping they'd get the servers up and running right away.

I'll be sure to come to these forums at 19:00 and watch the fireworks.
Yeah I'd rather have the goggles from the normal game.
I don't die enough to need the onion helm =P
(and at the point I do, I'm assuming I'll have a way better one)
Drop the next-gen marketing and people will argue if the game itself has merit.

Good luck, guys. I won't be joining the launch party. I'll be picking my copy up many months down the road.
