Its all matter of opinion, I played the world premier event, and enjoyed it. I dont think im going to buy the game because i honestly dont think i would play it very long, maybe a month or so. Its a perfect game if you want to jump on an hour here an hour there. You can quickly get into action, groups are fast and easy to get in or get going, the action is pretty fun... the learning curve is very slim, and the graphics are very beautiful. The things i didnt like, is any mmorpg type feal, with open areas where everyone can fight pve or pvp (its more set up in arenas and such). And if it stays like beta, its kind of a short game, and level caps at 20.
Im sure a lot has been changed and added over these months and will be polished nicely at launch, i thought it felt solid during the open beta i played.
Every day millions of pinatas are captured and slaughtered, beaten until the tiny bloodthirsty beasts known as children swarm over them and devour there innards. Adopt a pinata today and save them from this horrible fate!
MoooOOOoooo!
the guild wars team did a great job on the game for what it was meant to be....BUT,
im waiting for a No monthly fee on a real MMORPG...im not sure Guild Wars fits into what i think a real MMORPG is just because you have a lot of people online don't means its a MMORPG......now if i can have guild combat with 100-200 of my closest friends in a NON-linear world...then i would like that. This is not that.
if i want guild based combat..in limited numbers..then there are other free games out there i would rather play.
i like adn will purchase it.. but the prob is finding time to play it..
I'm buying it.. It is enjoyable, has good content, good graphics, I can play as casually as I like and still stay connected to the real world (which is now my 1st priority now that I have a baby son to take care of).
I liked the World Preview Event and I do like the game but I'm not sure if I'll buy the game. This doesn't got anything to do with the game itself though. Currently I'm playing EQ II and I like it. I'm leaning towards playing this game until D&L comes out, so, GW doesn't really 'fit' into the 'planning'.
Don't get me wrong though - Guild Wars is a good game; good graphics, original ideas (8 skills per "fight" for instance), etc. The big load of instances is considered 'bad' & 'un-MMORPG'-like by about half of the community (rough estimate) though, so it's really up to your own preferences whether this game will suit you.
"This game is about watching eachothers backs but somehow people tend to overlook my back when I'm not online to tell them where it is."
