give me the run down

I ALPHA'd this game and quit playing because it was so frustrating. I didn't enjoy the battle, it was very uh.. boring. I couldn't figure out how to get my character to move with my keyboard and my PS3 controller only did so much.

Is it fully functional with a keyboard now or do I have to go program it? I loved the GFX and opening movie and stuff. It looked really awesome and I've heard great things about it.

So tell me, has the combat changed, movability etc. I'd like to know. Thanks

Yeah, but I'd still wait a while, personally.

Using LOL is like saying "my argument sucks but I still want to disagree".

It's hard to say, I wasn't in alpha, so I can't say for certain how much better the open beta is, and nobody knows exactly how  release will play considering the client size is about to increase neigh in triplicate.

I will say I know this much, however:

    • A lot more of the keyboard became customizable, though some aspects remain hard-coded, nearly the cursor,.accept, cancel, and hotbar execution buttons.

    • Lag was reduced in several places throughout the open beta, but not eliminated entirely.

    • Crashes were reduced substantially throughout the open beta, to the point where i haven't crashed in days.  (It helps if you run it in a window so can alt-tab freely.)

    • This developer interview contains a number of interesting promises, such as saying the lag will be reduced, marketplaces will be revamped to make them easier to use, and hardware mouse will be in the game at or near release.

There is more keyboard fuctionality/key assignments.  Input lag has been greatly reduced since Alpha, and will be further reduced upon launch (the words they used at the pre-release party were extermely, and many times faster).

Combat is faster since Alpha.  However you only said boring so my guess is you just aren't really the target audience for this game.  I mean honestly you think it is boring, it is probably still boring to you.   Though if you couldn't even figure out how to move I can see how you might have made it more "boring" than it was ever intended to be...

They didn't completly revamp the entire game to be like some other game, it is still the game it was designed to be all along just with more optimization, fixes, customizability, functions/commands, content, and a faster pace than its state in the Alpha.

It is still nothing like the combat in AoC, WAR, WoW, Guild Wars or Aion if that is what you are looking for being more like FFXI (or the original alpha combat) than any of those though faster with significantly more input from the player during battle.
