Just wondering,
I truly hope that there will be vampires and were-creatures in the game, perhaps added as a mission pack for solo/group play to kill a vampire lord terrorizing a small village? Have there ever been vampires in the SE FF games? I take it there will be more live updates and free content expansions after it launches and I hope we get to see some of these classic fantasy creatures - (a gothic scene, with awesome vampire-gothic plate armour, ect)
Heres hoping - any other suggestions or thoughts?

From FFXI.
Wow those look really trashy, when did they add those in?
Was after I left, I certainly don't remember them. I think I'd rather on crabs some more than look at those in game. I like most of the mobs I have seen in XIV.

2007 and 2008.
They look great in-game, but more than the monster design they've seriously taken a step back as far as armor design goes. The color palette is simply horrible.
Japanese fans seem to a lot less fascinated with these creatures than Western audiences are, so I wont be surprised if they don't make a major appearance in this game. That being said there are wolf creatures in this game (in Gridania especially) so maybe they'll be featured as a boss or something in the final release.
Yeah, I would like to see this game rival games like EQ2 for content - You can never have enough content, and to have free content updates (not just ones you have to pay for) would be a nessisity - perhaps 1 per 3 months and a paid one evrey 12 months. Having lore books and awesome "must play 1 more hour to beat the boss and get the item"" lore! Any other suggestions?
Erm yeah, this is a given. Once per 3 months sounds a bit scarce but realistic.
They've already started working on the expansion.
Have they really? Is there much info on it? Did you have a link I could have a look at?
They have said that they want to retain the same update pace as in FFXI, which is an update every 3 months.
It sounds quite slow considering FFXI had updates every month, then bimonthly, and later every 3 months but I guess it is easier to plan content and fixes with a slightly slower pace.
