Class/race Question

I'm thinking of picking up a copy of WoW over the holidays, but I'm not too sure what the best choice for an Alliance Warlock would be. I'm not a big fan of the Gnome modles so I've narrowed my choices down to Humans and Night Elves. Any advice you guys might have would be muchly appritiated!

A Conjurers Conundrum-
I my pet starts to mis-behave, do I beat him over the nose with a rolled up newspaper and yell at him, or just let him continue his horrific slaughter of the entire village?

My advice to you firstly is: Try them both!
If you like the game, you won't "loose" hours of game time on it trying something. You'll just gain experience with have a good time.

But if you really want to choose between the two, compare their racial traits and their begin stats using the WoW site.

    It comes down to preference.

    Night elves can't become warlocks.

Gnomes are actually very cute if you pick the right settings for character creation.

For night elves, druids and hunters seem to be the most popular choices. As for humans, I'm not sure. Currently I play a horde character so I can't say much for the Alliance side of things, I played a night elf priest up to level 16 before I got so bored I deleted the character and recreated as a Troll shaman. I would say priest is a bad class to pick if you don't like healing/dying all the time, which is what I ended up doing. I could barely kill a monster my level, I'd be left with hardly any MP and a small sliver of life. Not fun. But then again, priests aren't exactly meant to be solo masters...

    Its all about the look~

I liked how the Gnomes casted in game alot better than how the humans casted.

Humans get 5% more spirit (HP/Mana regen)
Gnomes get 5% more intel (More Mana)

you can check out the other ratial traits at www.worldofwarcraft.com.

I always thought that the human casting animation looked pretty cool, it looked like some sort of 'combat casting', martial arts stance + magic casting combined into one. Beats my troll casting animation which looks like they're firing a hadoken/kamehameha, but the Alliance don't get shamans so...

I would've taken the Human, but then we all are'nt of the same interest as one another. The best thing to do in WoW is to try everything out ::::02::
