Okay, I'm currently playing Eq2 and i find it extremely Tedious to say the very least, at some points its fun but others it sucks.... and the Lack of pvp is killing me.

So i was considering going to WoW but i would like to know some other games that have good content along with Pvp i was even considering trying shadowbane again but then agian i've heard bad things still about that game.

Any Suggestions Would Be apprecaited all i am looking for Is good Content With Good pvp tell me waht you think the best bet would be.

    wait for dark and light, wish, or darkfall. dark and light looks especially tantalizing.

    from what i hear, SB is dead as hell now. Wana kill players - play halflife 2. Wana kill monsters, play eq2. That's called the bofis route and i think it works quite well.

    Yes, there is no doubt Dark and Light will bring some fresh approch to MMORPGs.

    if you like pvp so much, u should be playing lineage2. the pvp system is 24/7 anywhere. you dont have to click on challenge/duel , if u want to attack anyone, just attack.

    Its not that i like only pvp thats the problem, i dont like a game that is only pvp because that too gets tedious i like a game that has good content ie quest good pve and so forth but i also like the challenge of fighitng against other people. os finding a balance is hard... and i'd rather steer clear of L2.

    I ran into the same problem with EQ2. Hopefully they will implement a pvp-ruleset server soon and I'll head back. If not it's Dark and Light for me.

    I'm having the exact same problem Keegan... I just renewed my Shadowbane subscription in wait of some upcomming games. Shadowbane is dying, I played a few months back and vengence had 800-1000 people peak time, I have played 4 days now and its been 200-400 peak. Its still fun and all, and I have found some good fights, but still... The expansion is pretty cool, I dont think it will save the game though. I am looking forward to Dark and Light or Mourning at the moment. They look to be some of the better MMORPG's with good PvP in my opinion, i'd check those out. And in the meantime you can play EQ2, Shadowbane, or jump into some betas.  Wish open beta starts Jan 1st, might want to check that out as well.

    Nah,i think hes almost like me,.....you must be the type that also likes HUGE raids and battles,castle seiges,and guild towns,good teamwork,and reinforcments coming at the last second to save ur ass when ur fighting off the enemys army,but lost 70% of your men.....guess me and you both brother are waiting for DnL...in there,theres player towns that can be made and expanded and destroyd (if built in PvP area,which has an advantage b/c its better for the economy for your town).You can upgraid it to towns,castles,ect....and seige others,and have wars...its gonna be great...untill then though,im guessing Dark Age of Camelot + Xp

    I think you hit the nail squarly on the head there, so DnL is the answer to my problem? i was also checking out Mourning which looks pretty nice from what i saw i will go check out DnL

    Mourning to me sounds good for more PvP duels....DnL sounds better for GvG/RvR ect....

      - Anarchy Online currently is out. It is a successful MMORPG. And it has the best PvP features out of any MMORPG ever made. It is also free to download and check out. One main reason AO has the best ever PvP is that Players can control land. They can control parts of the map/gameworld. And you can defend your land even while offline, or off adventuring, or even if you are online and your guild is offline. Also lower level players can kill off much higher level players.

      - SWG has the next best PvP. Declare overt Imperial or Rebel. I recommend joining Scylia server (it has one of the most well known Rebel and Imperial PAs aka Player Associations). There is absolutly no safe place in the entire game. Also, you can get your own NPC army to help you out in PvP. SWG is 2nd to AO because there is nothing to PvP for. There is no PvP for landcontrol. It had a recent free trial... a computer magazine named "Maximum PC" had a free DVD disk in back with the entire SWG game, and 2 free weeks. If your computer specs match/are better than/are the equivilant of :

     GeForce 4, Pent 4, 512 MB RAM, 800 MHZ .... send me a personal PM here at MMORPG.com and I can give you a free SWG CD-Key and send the game to you over AIM. (I successfully did this with AC2 for a friend.)

      - EvE Online has intresting PvP. It is next best. It will take you 2 months of playing before you have a chance in PvP. IMHO I recommend 3 months.

      - Special mention Vendetta Online. Nice little space MMORPG. Some nice PvP. It has a free trial.

      - Special mention Starport. It is centered around PvP. You can defend your colonies while offline, or off adventuring. Set up land mines, defense turrets, etc... It is free to play.

      - Dark Age of Camelot gets special mention. But PvP is most fun at high level... lvl 48-50. Higher level players will always automatically win vs lower level players. And once you, or your guild log off, the enemy can simply walk in and take your gains. There may still be a free trial for it.

      - Runescape has some hardcore PvP. You kill someone else and get to loot 95% of their entire inventory. And of course, if they kill you... they can do the same to you heheh. The loser gets to keep the 3 most valuable items they are holding. All else is lootable by the winner. The hardcore PvP takes place in the far north of the gameworld, in the Wilderness. it is free to play.

      - Shadowbane was made to be PvP oriented. But it suffers even worse than DAoC from you not being able to defend while you are offline. You crush an enemy, take out their city. As soon as you/your guild log off, they instantly take it back. One cannot defend one's gains while offline, or off adventuring.

    I'd also like to second that little Vendetta Online plug made by xploror, especially if you're into twitch-pvp. It's a smaller game than most (made by 4 people) but it has an extremely devoted fanbase, and a rapidly evolving universe. The nice thing about it is that if you have good reflexes and 3D sense a newb can beat a veteran in a more powerful ship. Large-scale cooperative pvp occurs during capture the cargo raids.

    Seriously tho, check it out. It's not for everyone, but the free 8 hour trial is definitely worth a look if you enjoyed games like EV:Nova, Freelancer, Earth and Beyond etc....

    It doesn't sound like you value pvp enough to play shadowbane.  You should play Wow, and try both the pvp and pve server and see which is your playstyle.

     

    I'm playing Wow until guildwars comes out.

    If you are a PvP player - heck.. not even that.. If you are a griefer and love nothing more than to harass and gank lower level players - play Lineage II.

    Seriously. I'm not being facetious here. They completely support griefers in that game. In fact, report one to a GM and they pretty much tell you there's nothing they will do because it's a PvP game. You can be level 60 killing a level 1 player over and over and over again, ad infinitum.... It's all peachy by NCSoft. Apparently, a griefer's dollar is worth alot more than that of the one being harassed in their world.

    After all.. even though it says right in the first item of their Rules of Conduct that you are not allowed to do anything that disrespects or disrupts another player's enjoyment of the game, all that is trumped with "It's a PvP game". In other words, it's a Griefer's Heaven.

    If that's what you're looking for... Lineage II is the game for you.
