Mortal Online TOG Event: "The Path of Suffering" Starts Today

For those looking for player events, TOG is sponsoring an event that looks really interesting, if not a little insane.

This is part of the intro that they posted on the official forum:

In the year of our lord...



The following is not written from captain America, but by a representative of the tog clan.



 

To whom it may concern,

My adventure begins in the northern mountains as I was in search for the monstrous beast known as the greater kimiru. Despite the frigid cold air of the north, the dangerous bloody red bastard bandits, and treacherous skull clans, I with my sword set out to confront this mighty beast so that I may slay him. Yes, I, Bathor the Sheepish, court jester of King Kubalay was going to show all of Nave the king's mighty powers. You see,King Kubalay, himself, one druken night near kranesh pointed his sceptre at me and said, "Go brave Bathor the sheepish, you now have the mighty power to slay the greater kimiru!!!" From that moment on, I gathered my belongings and traveled to the north in search of the beast.



I will write the tales of my journey in letters, in hope that you the reader can follow my path.





The first step:



I went down the cavern where the greater beast lay, hoping it would be there. My sword was out, and torch held high so

that it would reveal itself.



"COME OUT YOU WRETCHED BEAST! SHOW YOURSELF SO THAT I MAY SLAY YOU FOR KING KUBALAY!?", I yelled searching for any movement.



No reply.



I ran around its chamber looking for any signs of presence, the very chamber seemed to have an erie feeling about it that make my skin feel warm yet my feet feel cold. An odd magical manifestation perhaps...



"Where is this magical beast?", I muttered silently as I looked in the center of the chamber to find a small hole the

size of a rabbit. I hurried over and stuck my head into the hole.



"HALLO THAR" I yelled.



"HALLO THAR! HALLO THAR! HALLO THAR!", the hole yelled back.



Odd, king kubalay said nothing about holes. I was supposed to fight a beast, a magical beast.



As I was thinking to myself, I suddenly fell down. The whole had widened up.



I screamed, and fell for some time. Probably what felt like an eternity, but in my time was a matter of minutes.



I finally fell into water, and a current pulled me this way and that.



Finally I was able to swim, and while gasping for some air, I saw a large glowing green light ahead of me. I swam

to it, for some reason, and I able to grasp a rock above the water and pull myself out.



When I did finally end up pulling myself out, I was amazed to see an earthly large humanoid creature with it's back

hunched, eating rocks. About it were many glowing green crystals.

 

"What are you!? I shall slay you in kubalay's name!" I called.



It didn't turn, only ate more rocks, not the green ones though.



"Speak now!! beast!!!" I yelled again.



It didn't turn again, so I tried a more diplomatic approach..



"In the power of king kubalay, I command you to speak now, or face the harshest conditions possible! Such as being kicked from a clan 3 times!!!", I said in a respectful tone.



Again, no response, it just kept munching. I walked up close to it, could hear it breathing. How can a creature of stone breathe?



It laughed at me for awhile, and more, and more.



"Another heroic knight sent to kill the mighty kimiru eh?", it bellowed in what sounded like an old father's voice. The one that knows all, and laughs at your mistakes. Wait that was my duties?! I'm the court jester....



"Yes! I have the power of his mighty excellence!" I assured the beast.



"Then know this, foolish man, to defeat the mighty kimiru one must walk the path of suffering..", it lectured.



"SUFFERING!?" I said, laughing as I sat down, this beast didn't seem to want to kill me, so...



And then he told me the path of suffering, and what it entails, I shall describe it here.

I'll probably try to participate as well.  It looks like TOG has some wild stuff going on here.

From what I've read, it may not necessarily lead to an attack on the Kimuru....

But it does look like fun!

As far as I can tell they had 6 people participate... for one day out of the seven, even though they gave the answer to the first step on the forums...

 

Of course.. maybe the guy running it just hasn't updated the post and there were actually hundreds of participants.  Perhaps one of the people who posted above that they would be joining the event could update us?
