They are nice - about twice the length of the GBA, so it's a bit harder to carry them places (like in your pockets). Also, I would say there aren't that many *good* launch titles. Mario is of course a good one, it's an oldie but a goodie. Feel the magic is pretty decent too...new ones coming out all the time though.

Definitely look into it if you are thinking about it. It's backwards compatable with older GBA games as well - that's a plus ::::20::

Nintendo owns just cause they are Nintendo.

Forget about 3rd party games, Gran Turismo, MP3 player and miniDVD Videos (BTW: I'm making reference to the PSP)

Think about Mario this and Mario that.  Think about Zelda.  Think about Metroid, Star Fox, Pokemon, etc.  They are all great games.  People are turned off by the kiddy graphics, but it's the gameplay that counts.  I've never found myself bored of playing a Nintendo game.

That's why I own the Nintendo DS.  For all the Nintendo titles.

It's such a great handheld.  The touch screen is such a great addition to a handheld console.  But I'm just wondering how can Nintendo aim a Nintendo DS to children who'll most likely lose their pen stylus all the time or are not careful with the touch screen and end up scratching it too me.  Bah well, I'm careful, so who cares about the kids. lol

But hey, if you're not a kid anymore, and have the age to own mature games.  Then only buy a Nintendo product if you really like their exclusive games.  Cause if you really wanted to play sport games on a handheld, wait for the PSP.  if you really want a racing game with real cars (Not Mario Kart, MARIO KART OWNZ ALL RACING GAMES), wait for Gran Turismo on PSP.  If you want RPGs, then wait for Final Fantasies on PSP.  But if you buy a PSP, then no Mario, no Zelda, no Metroid, no Starfox, no Pokemon, no Kirby, no Donkey Kong, NO Nintendo. :)

or you could buy both. :)  I mean I own an Xbox for all non-Nintendo games, but the only titles I own on my Gamecube are Nintendo-exclusive titles only.  It's not like I'm gonna buy Soul Calibur 2 on Gamecube just cause there's Link, I bought the Xbox version cause the graphics are SOOOO much better.

You get what you pay for. PSP is a lot more expensive but comes with better graphics/better features. DS is reasonably priced for what you get. Games, chat, ect. PSP's HDD is rumored to only last 2-3 years before breakage as well.

Not sure what to say about both, don't know about their handling, but one thing to decide when choosing handhelds.... When the PSP is running on lowest gamma, on headphones, and all other features turned off, it has a battery life of 2hrs. If the life is that low... why bother making a handheld? May not be as impressive, but the DS has my vote on this one, just because of that...

    ummm... yeh

Don't assume somthing is way better than the other just becase you may be "Anti-Nintendo" or didn't even play the PSP or DS. The PSP isn't even out yet . . . .

Not actually better...anyone can put down specs put you got to have a comparason to realize that. The DS is the first handheld to ever have double screens and both touch screen. Never herd that but their is a fact that their is a discussion about the battery life of the PSP.

No their not. There was very few customers that had the "dead cell" on their screen. That means that the pixele dosen't change colors to the game and just stay red. This issue has been in ALL handhelds including GB, SEGA Nomad and GameGear (trust me, happend to my Nomad and that *i*ch grew taking up almost the middle of the screen). They say it won't expand throught the screen on the DS (guess some new just-in-case technology?). Nintendo say to play it for a while and IF it affects your gameplay then send it back with the warrenty and get yourself another one.

The DS is so damned awkward to play... I'm a huge Gameboy fan, but the DS was a huge letdown to me. I never liked the idea in the first place, and getting my hands on one just confirmed my fears. And honestly, I don't want "bells and whistles", I want to play some games, online if possible. The PSP appears to fill that hole, I don't want revolution, just evolution, and a touch screen is not evolution, just a gimmick. Worst design, ever. Holding it with one hand while tapping with the stylus is insane, you have to play it on a table.

Reading your posts make me feels stupider... Hes saying that a touch screen isnt necessary, its just a useless gimmick, he never said there was and reolution in the PSP hes just saying it doesnt go out of its way to put on useless features it just focuses on a good design for gaming, and lastly you obviously cant hold it properly when one hand is holding a stylus so its hard to play standing up or without any support. ::::12::

. . .  lastly you obviously cant hold it properly when one hand is holding a stylus so its hard to play standing up or without any support. ::::12::

Yes you can. The "properly" way is the way that either is confortable for you or the way you will have to hold it and get used to.

Now let me tell you that their is a way to hold it with support. Maybe you never did this before (not on a DS but in general) but holding somthing in your writing hand while writing on a sheet of paper. The best way to hold it is to have your pinky under the DS. you use your pinky and the finger beside it like a claw. The DS dosen't need all fingers for support (it's not that heavy, duh). While your pinky is supporting the under right side (for right handers like me) your other fingers are free to be in writing position for your stylus. That is actually the proper way.

There are also other was to hold the DS. I don't think it's hard to use a stylus and one hand to hold the DS becuase on a "touch screen" I don't think you need to add so much pressure that the DS would fall or wobble out of your hand.

So you think im screwy? . . . . look at the one who didn't put much thought into it (not meaning to offend you, but true) image
