Can I play FFXIV at college?

in Final Fantasy XIV

I just got the game yesterday and spent the better part of the afternoon trying to get the patches to work. The SE downloader doesn't work at all and neither does any sort of torrenting methods. I'm pretty sure that the college I'm at blocks P2P file sharing so I can't update the game at all. Anyone have any advice or suggestions on how to fix this, or any programs/proxies I can run that will bypass the P2P blocking?
