Trying to login to my character and I get the message that the world is experiencing Heavy Traffic. My place in queue is 216. So not only do we deal with all of the bugs and issues but, We have to wait to play a P2P game?
If you are expecting to have the "perfect" experience in the first couple days or even the first week of release something is wrong with you. There is NO game that has had a perfect launch.
Indeed they r screwing up big time!!! After all all other MMOs at start managed its without a waiting list its just plain stupid on SEs side and...hmm well now that i stopped ranting and started thinking i realized that its not the first MMO that has this problem at release.
So yeah its annoying but really nothing too special tho and i never was in a Waiting Queue so far so maybe u just picked a bad server (one of the mostly crowded ones)
The game came out 2 days ago. There's a lot of people playing all at once. Many games have queues when they just come out, or when an expansion hits (ie lotro when ftp launched, any WoW expansion, etc etc) It's very normal. Have you tried a server with less population? (less chocobos when you choose the server)

SE is not messing things up. Alot of games experience queues when they first launch, or when a major expansion is launched. Hell it's happened everytime WoW put out an expansion and it's going to happen again when Cataclysm comes out, and it' wont' be a paltry 216 either. All games have growing pains, all launches have hiccups, and you, OP, need to learn some patience.
This is nothing new and in no way is it a sign of SE messing up..
I assume this is your first MMO, or your first MMO you have played at release, if this is your complaint.
As for bugs and other issues, almost any game after release will have bugs, and require patches to fix, be it a MMO, RTS, FPS or whatever other acronym you can think of for a game.
i dont know any aaa game that has been released and didnt have you waiting. Wow when it came out had some of the biggest lines, to many people , to little servers. SE has a decent amount of servers, get on a not so heavy server, if they all are thats signs that new servers will open soon.

I Ran into the same issue during the first day of the CE launch, what I noticed was the server was loading at the time when I got the message, after a few mins I got out of the game completely and restarted and I got in after.
I guess one downside of being able to set your character up as a merchant is that a lot of people leave them logged in 24/7, making less room for people who actually want to play.

uh god that was aions problem too. then they made it log you out after you were in shop for a certain length of time. its for the better though to expand servers as you need to rather than go the route of say WAR which started out with way to many servers with the population spread to thin. this game has gotten some pretty negative feedback so far the last thing it would need would be to have "server merges" added to it.
More of a reader then a poster...... but I have been following this forum and others for some time now. It's just unbelievable how much gamers just rollover for their masters these days. The master being your game creator. I say they are your masters because you obey obediently accepting the way they say it has to be. Acting as if it’s ok to have these kinds of problems at launch and it’s just the way it is so it’s ok. "Everybody does it"
YOU yes YOU are the reason why games are like this. If you didn't put up with it then it wouldn't be this way.

in aion you had to wait for hours to play so nothing new
Welcome to the launching week of a MMORPG
Be happy the queue is so small!

Be grateful it's not like aion's queue for example lol.

Untrue,
WOW, in its first month of existance, had long server waits. So much so that they finally agreed to give users time credits on thier subscriptions.
I was there.

It's the only recent big game launch and it's the first Saturday since it did, no surprise there are queues.
This is normal for a game at launch. Either wait it out, play at non peak hours or switch to a low pop server.

Be nice if I could get on to Besaid
It's been locked off the past 2 days >_<
Be greatful for full servers and waiting queues when the game launches! (/sarcasm) The alternative is server merges and ghost town servers.

Par for the coarse
Not surprising, really, just after launch. I can't log in right now, though (server error). T__T
pie.
