Did you not get the impression from my thread that I don't give a shit? That I am already on info overload. No?

I could be wrong, but looking at the OP I'd take a guess that it isn't 'your' thread but Bloodbone's. That is, as far as possession of threads can go.

I could be wrong but your the kind of poster that likes to pad his post count with offtopic comments like the above. If you actually got into any real discussion or you made any real posts, I would be surprised.

As far as I know, there are not. There are however rules about thread hijacking and off topic comments..lol of which I am sure I am guilty by responding to your post.

Oh, you are wrong, and yes, seeing how you reply on posts you should be surprised. I'm not surprised though with your reaction, it is in line with some of your other posts in this thread.

I did see you edited your former post, I hadn't expected it so for that I say 'well done' image

Now on topic of the OP:

I don't see anything to be worried about, unless they'd planned to hit and keep a 1mil subs. It's true that 2011 will see the fiercest competition in the MMO top level as not seen for years, with the heavy hitters and some high potentials that will appear on the stage, and with a CATA just been released.

Despite that, if the game will be as the signs so far indicate, Rift will do well on its own. It's not for nothing that Rift is being mentioned together with SW:TOR and GW2 to keep an eye on. Each of these MMO's has its own groups of interested gamers that will carry it through the first months. After that it depends upon the amount of content and how high the quality of the MMO is whether players will keep subbed. But so far Rift is doing well. Personally, I like the look & feel of its zones, they remind me of the EQ art style if EQ's graphics would have been upgraded and revamped to 2010 graphical quality.

The ACTUAL size of MMORPG worlds: a comparison list between MMO's

The ease with which predictions are made on these forums:
Fratman: "I'm saying Spring 2012 at the earliest [for TOR release]. Anyone still clinging to 2011 is deluding themself at this point."

No my bad, but maybe if you would tone down your comments(and mass quotes) people won't see you as a rabid fanboi, until recently I respected you as a fairly decent poster, now the posts on the Trion site are pretty good and show a very mature community generally. I hope people can carry on that level of behaviour here.

Please continue this discussion with at least some semblance of grace folks.

It isn't off topic if I am directly responding to someone's post inside of the thread providing misinformation in response to the OP. If some of you don't like pyramids then stop posting mis information and research before you post incorrect facts.

Oh noes, its the SWTOR fanbois.

Attack me, attack my point of view, nit pick my post. (edited, I meant post instead of thread)

I am not surprised as there were also a couple of other things that went VROOM right over your head.

I am a fan of any potentially good game thats finally allows me to sever the tie with some of the existing games I am forced to play. I am much more familiar with SWTOR and GW2 and am excited about the potential both have to offer. I know much less about Rift and didn't even realize it was an option until I glanced at the Hype meter which I rarely care or look at. Now I am starting to look into what potential this game offers (as of today) and curious to see if it will be a 3rd great choice which would be unprecedented for me at least since I started MMOs 7 years ago. On that note, you don't see me posting misinformation about rift to prove a point in the GW2 or SWTOR forums because I'm smart enough to do my homework before misleading people.

    There Is Always Hope!

I am not a rabid fanboi...unless hating Roaming Game Zealots makes me a fanboi.

I know I might look like the new guy, I deleted my original account 2 years ago that I had since 04.. or 05..cant remember. I've been around. And I shouldnt be such a dick but this thread many times has just been over the top and I did not have the patience to respond kindly.

My definite number one! Release has been said to be february - march 2011. Hoping to get in the beta and help them make this the next big MMO.

I think you can blaim Scott for that. I suspect that when he appeared he considered Rift not structured enough. He changed the original class system (probably for the better) and introduced the faction set-up. But he did not change the core of the game that is based upon their in house built server technology for dynamic layered content. That is what makes this game unique. Only they are not marketing it in the best possible way with almost scholarly explanations of how rifts work and how unique their class system is. Rifts are not the only way they can put their unique server technology to good use, but it is the only feature ready for release, and they have choosen not to breath a word about what is not ready yet, so who knows.

On the other hand, it might be that your demands are too high and can never be met by any game based upon a new IP that wants to appeal to more then only  a niche market. Because, they may play the role of the underdog in public, in reality they are aiming to reach those 1 million subscribers with a good solid game.

It takes one to know one.

I play Vanguard and I will leave in a minute for Rift as soon as it is released. As will many others.

Na, the best news is when you mention Rift to other wow players, they put on their best downs-syndrome faces, and say "whats that then? GW2?"

Your point is well taken.  I suppose part of my issue is I see so many ways to better the MM part of current AAA MMORPGs.  Things like faction control of zones and resourses, player controled faction leadership, organized mercinary services for protection and banditry (Players and NPCs) etc., etc.  A game with the above feature doesnt need to be a hard core sand box either and I believe with the right struture could still draw an extremely large player base.

In any case if Rift is fun to play, responsive, well laid out and has good customer suppport I'm sure i will florish for years to come.
