"McDonald's famous McNuggets no longer do contain "mechanically separated poultry as defined by the federal government. The USDA now requires foods with mechanically separated poultry to be labeled as containing "mechanically separated chicken or turkey" in their ingredients lists."
Either way, it doesn't really bother me. It's it's not fresh food, but it tastes good, I really don't care what's in it. I would eat the stuff they make dog food and other sorts of feed is if was sterilized for human consumption. I used to work within smelling distance of where they "extracted" protein out of road kill and other various rotten animals. Basically, they boiled it into a sludge.
OK, maybe no longer a McNugget, but I know of many other "foods" in which that is an ingredient. I used to live in Greeley, CO away from Monfort's meat processing plant - uck, that was a horrible smell.

Hell, throw in all the mechanically-seperated chicken goo you want. It's still a step up from the rat bits I assumed were in there.
