This game should not be F2p. It's worth every penny. It's not perfect...but it tries to be. This is a game and developer you support with your money....because the game means something special to the creators and players. It may be a slower process....and not shiney right out of the box...but is a damn good game none-the-less....a game that can and , based on the changes so far, will meet it's potential. If you want F2P go to LOTRO...DDO...both I play as well and are good games in their own right. I always try to throw a sub fee towards FE even if I am playing something else or don't have time....because it's a game I want play when I can . A game that I want to succeed ...whether I logon or not.
I have been contemplating trying this one and now it's so cheap I will probably give it a whirl. And I agree with some posters before me : TThe fact it has a truly commited dev team which is willing to communicate with players ( not a one way street but really communicate ) goes a long way to lessen any flaws one might find in the game . If players have the impression they are being taken serious they will put up with a lot more small nuisances. And it instill confidence things will be improved too ( I remember the magnificent Tabula Rasa team we had in final months : we were all very patient because we knew everything would be fixed eventually .The devs were also PART of the playerbase . Too bad NCsoft didn't agree )
Had an awesome time tonight with a Player made PvP event tonight. What started as a Multi Faction Clan vs Faction Specific Clan argument turned into a wholesale slaughter fest of hundreds and hundreds of Clones.
Everyone fought and everyone died, lasted for several hours. Back and forth battle for control of the bridge outside of Alamos.
Reminded me of the battles in Swg between Imp and Reb towns a little too close to each other and the battles that would flair up.
Good to see this alternative to Elves and Orcs is still going strong. I was concerned about the way that how many AP you get at level cap depends on which quests you did. They need to level the playing field there.
Well I played since beta, and I had a sub for the past year. I just canceld my sub. The reasons are many. First, hardly nobody is playing. I can go hours and not see a soal. Nobody groups nowdays to do the hard stuff. There might be 100 or 200 players online durring prime time.
My main number one gripe is the coming nerf to the mele class, and a huge one at that. So if you speced mele your out of luck unless they give us a mele tolken.
10 bucks for a game thats not going to be around in another year you might get some fun out of it.
Honestly the things they done to it, have made me go *#)!. They put in an achievent system, lol for all the folks who like that kind of thing, put in bloodsports and if you do que up you can wait hours if not days. The nerf to crafting xp.
Oh well it was a good game but this is where me and tiggs have to part company.
They couldn't pay me to play that abomination of a game.
Awww, c'mon - you would not download and install the game if they paid you $9.99? With the size of hard drives and everything, I would be willing to install the game for $10...and I would leave it there, installed and unplayed each month as long they paid me $15 a month.
I mean, that sounds fair, no?
I was in most of the beta. I made my voice heard through forums, IRC chat, even ingame to developers. Everything that was suggested by both myself and thousands of others fell on deaf ears. The game has so much potential, yet the devs havent realized it, in regards to content, graphics, even the unstable game engine.
If another company had developed it and actually put time in to make a good game, as well as listen to beta testers and potential subscribers, it would be great. It seem the ONLY peopel that like it are the people that have come from mid '90's games, and this is their first modern game.

Regarding Tiggs, does it sem suprising to anyoen else, that nearly, if not every game she has been involved with has sunk within 12 months of launch...
I played this game a while back and it was freaking amazing. A sandboxy MMO in a post apocalyptic setting? Awesome. I love Fallout and this is the closest MMOs have come to it.
Unfortunately I paid full price for this game so I'm pretty pissed at these special offers now. If this went F2P similar to DDO/LoTR I'd totally come back for another go.
It's sandbocy and is in the ideal setting. But the fundamental base game is broken and unfixable. To fix the inherent problems that plague the game, they would need to recode and rebuild the basic engine/platform it runs on.
the sole reason that it has very few subscribers is down to the fact that the base game is broken. Ask any potential subscriber or past subscriber.
It has the makings of possibly the best mmo to date. It just has the worst development team possible behind it.

Exactly my thoughts!

Picked it up for another go.
Tried to put the key on my old account and it wouldn't let me add it.
Just thought I'd send out a warning.
