If you remove the jalousy, the sarcasm and everything else, the kid has a point. I mean posting this on the Darkfall Forums would make sense. Posting this on a multi-game platform is just simply bragging. You could have made the post a bit more informative, maybe gave it a different title; Like the new expansion had all kinds of improvements. Here is a video of us killing the new Ice Dragon. Then again i might have had too high hopes for the Darkfall community and e-peen is really everything...
Or maybe you're reading too much into it and showing your bias?
This site is for all MMORPG's, yes, but this particular forum is dedicated to DF. Why wouldn't they post a video of a new mob here?

The one no one gives a shit what he thinks anymore?
yeah... enjoy your other game...
Except.....that Rockgod99 is right.
Hunting the Kraken when it first came out was fun and all. But the reward made it not so worth it. Players still go on a Kraken Hunt, but it's more of something to do in groups instead of being solo grinding or macro'ing. But Risk vs. Reward, meh, not worth it.
Then make suggestions on the DF forums on how to improve the experience and reward if you haven't already. For all the epic mobs. AV seems to be listening better to the community than they have been in the past. If enough people post about it, it's more likely to be improved upon.
Oh please, the amount of suggestions that have been made to fix the various features are in such a high number, yet AV has done very little to address them, or if they decided to "try" to address them, they have completly missed it (the new changes to Village for exemple).
Totally agree, Tasos and Sons seem to completely ignore the community and live in their own world. I remember a while ago a guy from Hardcore Casual visited them and asked them when do they plan to add more real sandbox features, Tasos seemed to be surprised by the question and more then pleased with the state of the game.
The main problem I have with DF is game content not designed around fun.
A simple example gathering resources in Darkfall and...Firefall:
thats DF idea of fun resources gathering. BTW prepare yourself to do it for few hours to get enough resources for ONE set of armour you can lose under 10 minutes.

Was that supposed to be impressive? Looks very cartoony and kidish. Not to mention very easy. It did not look like at any point in the video that the character could have died. I prefer Darkfall in every aspect, even the gathering.

DF without hesitation. While I see the appeal in a game like Firefall, it's not the kind of game I would want to play as an MMORPG. While that kind of resource gathering might be fun for a little bit, it would get old really fast having to fight off wave after wave of easy mobs just to collect some resources. You can't argue that that wouldn't become repetitive and a bore after a while.
Don't get me wrong. DF could and should add more ways to gather resources with varying challenges for sure, but if I had to choose between Firefall and DF as an MMORPG, I would choose DF.

Well if a person was playing or slightly interested in Darkfall they would visit to official forums won't they? My point is that the Darkfall forums on MMORPG is to inform people who stumbled on Darkfall and/or potential players. I still think bragging about some kill is pointless here, informing the masses with a funny post/article or blog including the video would show a much more mature Darkfall community.

I ment the idea of gathering resources, not the game, maybe I worded it wrong. Yes it looks easy and thats was my main complain on their forums, but difficulty level can be adjusted, mobs replaced with players, just without all that fuss about city sieges.
Can it get boring ? Sure, even pvp version can get boring. Any game gets boring after some time. The thing is that the present gathering is boring by default.

Sorry, I misunderstood your question. Yes, I agree that resource gathering could be improved upon. You can still have your basic click and wait harvesting as it is now, but there could also be other ways to gather resources (some of which already are there):
1. Killing other players and looting them (exists already)
2. Killing certain mobs for specific resources (exists already)
3. Resource nodes that show up at certain times and/or random places.
3b: Some of those nodes could have guardian mobs
3c: Or as you mine the resource, it attracts guardian mobs (like Firefall)
4. Some resource nodes are not visible, but can be discovered via spells or dedicated skills
5. Add skills that allow you to gather more of the resource (like Ryzom)
I'm sure there are other ways to improve resource gathering.

I understood your comparisons and I agree with you. The idea of harvesting that involves some kind of action or responce would hide the harvesting "grind" fairly well. In DF, its point and click and watch, no interaction or involvement whatsoever.
I also find it funny how so many people suddenly do not understand what you were trying to show them and try to forward the conversation flow into "the game looks cartooney", "its a shooter" etc etc.
Yeah, any kind of ineraction can get boring eventually. The greater the number of various interactions, the slower you become bored. Fighting off bug spawns, just watching and adjusting some parameters of the harvester to optimize the outcome as you have in Vanguard, or scouting for that perfect location like you had in SWG, or some other mini game activity - any of that will reduce the "grind" part. But DF has no interaction, you just point and click and collect and watch out for the gankstas, very simple and very boring. So being bored in 1 day is still better then being bored in 5 minutes IMO.
I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

All of those are good ideas. I would really like DF to implement at least partially the mini-game aspect as it was in Vanguard. It was a fairly complex process in Vanguard to harvest and manufacture. If DF would simplify this, it would improve greately on the interaction. If someone does not know what Vanguard had this is the scenario:
- you start making a product;
- in the process of making a product, due to the low level of your skill (or your manufacturing tool), you fumble and make a mistake;
- you have a chance to fix it completely or partially, but if you try that you may be unable to finish the product;
So here is the itneraction , you have a choice to either get a lower level item for sure, or risk it and have a higher level item or a very low level item (or nothing at all if you fail completely).
As someone pointed out, any action can become boring in time. But the more options you have, the greater number of various interactions you have - the lower chace there is that that activity will become boring.

We're moving from resource harvesting to crafting here, but I agree that VG had an interesting take on the crafting process. Basically a mini-game like you said. I'm not sure how well that would go over in a game like DF though.
Also, I liked Ryzom's harvesting and crafting more than VG's. Ryzom actually has a lot that DF could glean from imo, not just with harvesting, but with crafting, spell creation and usage, wildlife AI, seasonal weather, etc.

It were more changes and mobs added then the Ice Dragon in the expansion.
I can see if I can get some people, or maybe myself to record some encounters of other new mobs and mobs that have been reworked in the expansion. Some of the changes are quite good. What some people complain about, is that some of the changes on older mobs have made them to hard when it comes to effort to kill compared to what they drop.
Many people also means that the Ice Dragons loot are not worth to kill due to the loot. You can kill a fire dragon alot faster and easier and get close to the same loot.

OH stop...
To you guys any negative posts comes from a hater.
I just think you people should be more focused on improving the pve in your game overall and less on one mob.
IM not the only one that read those old posts about the krakken and how it finally was true pve content in a mmo.
One mob doesn't make your pve good.
Playing: Rift, LotRO
Waiting on: GW2, BP
Er so people are complaining because in time the mob will become old news like the Kraken? That happens to near enough every fucking mob in time...
"Come and have a look at what you could have won."
Maybe you didn't read the memo but their was more than one new mob in this expansion.
