I'm having an issue. I want to play LOTRO. I have a turbine account. I try logging in and it says I don't have a subscription. (WTF, its free right? lol) It says go to the webpage and to get an account. (I have an account, WTF.) I tried putting my turbine account in the page, and it says it is already taken.
How do I get LOTRO to work on my already made account?

by contacting Customer Service and find out whats up.
1. Log into your account and see what it tells you about your status.
2. We can now help you.
Keep in mind that only LotR US is currently F2P, EU isn't.
I am in the US. I logged onto my turbine account, and it asks for a product key... but no where to add a LOTRO subscription. (Free, so there is no subscription really)
There is no where to contact customer service anywhere that I can find.

OK...lets slow down a moment.....
You're logged into your Turbine account page ? The bottom half of the screen should say "Lord of the Rings Online Subscriptions" What does it say under that? It should be on a black background . . .
The userbane???? (name ) and password you selected when setting up SHOULD be the same one you use to log into the game servers. For instance - when you setup the account, you used ABCDE for the username, and 12345 for the password. When you launch the game and get to the login screen - you'd use ABCDE for the username and 12345 for the password. You definately do not need a product key. Lemme know what happens...I'm sure we can work through this to get you in game !
*edited to laugh at my spelling )*
If you played LOTRO before, just log into the game and play.
If this is your first time, then go to the LOTRO main website and fill in the info for the free account: http://www.lotro.com/
I believe the OP issue is a valid one. I had to look at half a dozen different pages that bounced me back and forth between the LOTRO site and the Turbine site. What I finally found is below from the download page. I've highlighted the important part.
http://www.lotro.com/support/download-lotro
"Once you've created a game account, you'll need to download and install the game software to start playing. Choose one of the options below to begin your download.
Please note if you have not created your Turbine game account yet you can follow the onscreen instructions during the installation to create one or you can do so manually here but if you already have a Turbine account created you can skip that step when installing the game from these downloads."
The way I read that is your LOTRO specific subscription will be started the first time you attempt to login from the launcher. It will not show up on your Turbine account until then.
I already have a Turbine Account. I do not want to make another.
My point is, apparently you can only make a NEW account if you want to play for free. Why can't I use my turbine account that I already used for Dungeons and Dragons?

I forget which site it was, but for the girlfriend - I had to go grab a beta key for the F2P from one of the other game sites out there - input that - and then she was good to go. She already had a Turbine account from DDO.
Going throgh the main page, it wanted her to create a second Turbine account. Was kind of stupid.
edit: There was a link somewhere on one of the forums, think it might have been to fileplanet - but I do not remember.
I miss the MMORPG genre. Will a developer ever make one again?

Ah now i get it. You have a Turbine account with only D&D registered to it and now want to add LotRO to it. Frome here:
Adding LOTRO (or DDO or AC) to an Existing Turbine Account
If you would like to add a LOTRO subscription to an existing Turbine account, please contact the Account Management department via phone or email and they will be happy to assist. We do apologize, but we don't currently have an automated option to do this on the website.
For either issue you can call or email. Information for both is in my signature.
Email turn around for assistance with this is expedited (generally within 1 business day), as long as you contact the Account Management department via this form for a DDO key or this form for a LOTRO key, and "Type of Issue" drop down menu select: "New Free Account Key Request"
Be sure you're submitting the request on the support page for the game you want. If you want a LOTRO key, submit the request on the LOTRO support page. For a DDO key, submit the request on the DDO support page.
