I preferred Inception. Dreams have always interested me because my own are so crazy. It's like I visit another world every night that I have a good sleep. I believe everything while I'm dreaming but when I wake up I'm like "wtf?".

Just the other night I had a dream that had the following;  floating wolverine animals shooting things at me, a maniacal girl or doll that had a mutated arm that imploded one of my teammates, a palace designed to look like a run down carnival on the inside. I don't do drugs and the whole story made sense to me at the time...too bad I can't remember it.

Anyway I like movies that make you wonder about things long after the movie has ended. The dark knight was a straight shot movie that explained everything and didn't leave anything up to the imagination. Inception allowed me to come up with hypothetical scenarios at the end and to think more about the whole dreaming process.

If you ask me, I don't think the Dark Knight is even in the same category as Inception.

That's what I was thinking. It's like asking if you prefer apples over mashed potatoes.

Same here. I don't get the comparison.

Either way, I chose Dark Knight. Inception to me was just a 'meh' movie. It was good, but pretty far away from being one of my favorite movies of all time, where as the Dark Knight is up near the top of my list of favorite movies.

I've been a huge Batman fan since I was little. My favorite super hero/villain of all time isn't the Mad Hatter, it's by far the Joker. The way Heath Ledger pulled him off in the Dark Knight was just amazing. There will never be another Joker, like the one from the Dark Knight.

Where as to me, Inception was along the same lines as Dark City. Both amazing movies, but they are both no where near the top of my list of favorites and neither can even hold a candle to the Batman series returning to what it should be and not the travesty that was 3 and 4 of the 90's series of movies. "Batman" was good, "Batman Returns" was ok (except I freaking hate Catwoman & the Penguin both), but the Dark Knight series of movies just destroys them in every possible way.

Just the fact that you need to compare a Batman movie with Inception tells you how awesome The Dark Knight really is : )

The dark knight is an awful movie. Batman is played so terribly you cheer for joker to beat some acting lessons into him.

But its just a Batman movie! And i loved every minute of it : )  I remember when the movie ended, and i was like "i hope this was not the best thing i will see this year"! And it was.

How would you direct a Batman movie?

For starter's I wouldn't give batman throat cancer and make his character at least a little bit intelligent.

In all honesty I enjoyed the movie Kick-Ass a whole lot more than the Dark Knight. It was an all round good film.  It had a more complex story, better action, comedy, I couldn't ask for more.

    Inception explained.

I thought Nolan showed some serious directing skill but he threw too many variables into the plot.  People are still trying to figure the whole thing out.

The Dark Knight was one of my favorite movies the year it came out...hell both of his Batman movies are really good.

Inception is far better at it's core, but nothing beats Ledger's performance as the Joker - he MADE that movie. My only gripe is that he couldn't really nail the trademark laugh, but he added sooooo much more to the role than anyone could have expected. Highlight of his tragically short career.

The performance of ledger was no doubt awesome, but the overall quality of the movie was subpar.

Probably because they were by the same director.

Am I the only one who feels that Nolan is overrated.

Wow. Apparently everyone in this thread so far has been ignorant. lmfao

I knew the same director made both movies but I still don't like comparing different genres. Nolan did an equally good job making both movies.

If I saw Shutter Island before watching Inception I would've said that Inception was mediocre. DiCaprio has to stop playing a scarred person that sees influential visions of his dead wife.

No, that was a good move. Star Wars kills careers.

Besides Harrison Ford, Samuel Jackson, and Liam Neeson, I don't think there is a single actor who did well after they did their Star Wars thing.
