Hi all.
I seem to be in a smallish group of people who is licky enough to have a girlfriend who likes games as much as i do
We play together in Eve-online, and recently joined a corp..
But during the US beta, we played WoW as a hunter.
For the retail game in europe, my gf wants to play a night elf hunter (she loves the pets, and the elves are pretty nice, but maybe i can convince her to go tauren)
the question is - what is a decent companion to make a good group of two with a hunter?
i was thinking of going hunter-druid, for the "fighter/healer" combo, but are their any other opinions out there?

sounds very familiar ^_^
my GF has been playing a FPS with me since we met and since she saw me play WoW beta she is hooked we will be spending a lot of evenings in my room together ( playing WoW offcourse )
as an answer to your question. A hunter is awesome ranged combat. So try something like a druid or rogue / warrior. A melee char
Any class with healing will support her well, Paladin, Druid, Priest. (although Paladin will have to be a different race and start in a different area, not hard to travel there though if that matters) I'd vote Rogue for if you can't stand healing though. Good dps, her pulling for you will make backstab moves incredibly easy to pull off and in pvp (if you're going on a pvp server) you can use her as bait.
Lucky bastards...Oh well, the best thing to go with any group is anything that has the ability to heal someone. If you want an all Tauren group, have someone make a Druid to play with you all, or if you decide to go Night Elf, then your best bet will be a priest.
You don't really need a tanker because you have that built into your pet that you can use, and a damage dealer isn't necessary either, because when you get your pet with a bunch of skills and have some good skills yourself, then you will be quite a dynamic duo of damaging dealing disaster.
Penguin style from the old Batman series. You know the guy with the umbrellas? He loved to use a whole bunch of one letter in the same sentence...I have been watching a lot of old Batman re-runs... Ask me no questions, and I will tell you no lies.
Thanks
yep, i remember when i got morrowind, she basically hogged the computer for a few months That more than anything got her addicted - now she's played neverwinter nights, Eve-online, the Morrowind expansions, and is already kicking my arse at half-life 2
anyway - back to wow.
i never play healers which is why a druid came to mind as it lets me fight as well. I've also ben looking at the boards and other places doing some research, and the rogue does indeed sound like a good idea. She's already decided that a NE hunter w/skinning+leatherworking and cooking is for her - a nice companion sounds like a combat rogue with other skills - she can keep me in armour, and pull targets around, letting the pet tank
Profession wise then.. herbalism/alchemy sounds ok - get all those healing/buff potions... also thinking about tailoring/enchanting... might be useful bags were damn expensive in beta, and could be nice to get some of the other gear - headgear etc - that tailors make.
anyone know if you can fill bags and place the bag in the bank afterwards? Just a thought.
