MMO Comedic Relief

Do you enjoy MMOs that let you giggle once in a while like WoW? - "Hey there's a little gnome NPC named Mr Mxyzptlk!! har har!!"

Or do you like MMOs that have a strict no nonsense feel to them?

Not in games like Wow, no. If someone made a Discworld MMO it would be great but silly and not so funny pop culture references in a otherwise serious game kills the immersion for me at least.

And most of the stuff isn't funny anyhow. A game going 100% for that is another thing.

I enjoy humor so as long as it doesn't change the game to a yuk fest I love it.

Asheron's Call is my favorite game for pop culture jokes and references. I also found the dinosaur region in WOW to be very enjoyable due to the humor in the names and quests.

There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

I love humor. Whether its in a serious game or not. And in WoW i used to joke all the time. Im probably the reason alot of people hated barrens chat cause it ruined their immersion. Because i would use the channel for general conversation and funnys while i was grinding the zone. This being said, im not the only person that enjoyed the same. The majority did. The mature that didnt turned off zone chat. And the others complained thinking it would stop us from interacting. I usually told those people to play a Single player RPG, since interacting with other people didnt seem to be the reason they were playing an mmo. Id hear alot of arguement, saying that the conversation should be game related only and so on and so forth.

But i never got their arguement. I never understood why some people hated that we would chat while killing our mobs, turning in our quests, and going back out to rinse and repeat. I had some of my best online laughs while playing in game. Ive literally been in tears more times then i can remember. That to me equals a good time. And gives me fond memorys of the mmos i play. And for people that miss out on that because it ruins their immersion, i guess we'll just never understand each other.

I play MMO's to relax from everyday work. So hell yeah, if there is humor in them, I love them.
