My personal top-3 of best classes:

    1. Warsmith (Lineage II) - It's awesome to summon that huge siege golem to bash castle walls ;-)

    2. Rune Keeper (Lord of the Rings online) - Just an extremely fun class to play. Nuker or healer that grows stronger the more the skills are used over time in battle.

There's no #3 actually... Right now I'm playing EverQuest II and for the first time I'm actually enjoying a rogue class. So #3 might be the Troubadour because it's the only rogue I actually like ;-)

    1) EQ1 Bard- being the jack of all trades, weaving music, buffs, debuffs, offense and SPEED

2)EQ1 Necro- fear kiting, being evil and not having to care much about certain factions.

3)DAOC Scout-tons of fun scouting the enemies position and numbers, sniping and picking off stragglers or enemies who would stray too far from the pack

I think it's very curious that I've seen only one WoW Palidin here. I guess people think it has to be hard to be fun. But I have to say  If I had to pick only one character to play in every  game out now I would bet my WoW Palidin could defeat all. WoW Pallies are  the most versitile and powerful class I've seen in my 25 years of gaming, especially for soloing. So OP people love to hate it.

Don't hate because the class is great . : )

I have no second or third, sure there are some good ones but being tough, plate armor, sheilds (both magical and hand held), heals, good ranged and melee damage ... all in one character.

Pally ... there is no substitute.

    Good thread.

I have to say EQ1 is probably my all time favorite MMO, and i don't care if it is the nostalgia talking, so all of my classes will be from EQ.

    1. Monk- Everquest- By far my favorite class ever. Once i made my Iksar monk it was done and i pretty sold. Pretty challenging to play and plan everything out and sucks if you wanted a bunch of loot cause of the weight cap =)! When Beastlords came out i thought id die though cause of how insane those things were. Shackle Quests FTW.

    2. Necromancer-Everquest- This class was so ridiculous and fun. The skull cap quests for iksars were great and could either be done for other races by grinding faction/using illusions or it could be MQed by buying one of the higher level ones i believe. Demi Lich Skull Cap had a 10 second cast but damn, if you used that for your pull you were set for the rest of the fight. The skeleton laugh from that game still gets me to this day, i love it.

    3. Cleric-Everquest- A healer that could wear plate and buff the hell out of the group. What is not to like? My most prominent memory of my cleric is when i was in the Netherbian lair and my group accidently pulled like half the cavern and i was able to keep them alive for the most part =). Great class.

    Honorable Mentions

Beastlord-Everquest- Essentially a monk with a pet and spells. This class was a lot of fun to play and almost made it on the list but Cleric beat it.

Bard-Everquest- Such a deep and challenging class to play. Weaving songs could be a real bitch sometimes but the payoff was awesome.

Warden-LOTRO- Really fun class to play even though i never really leveled one up very high.

    1. Creature Handler - pre cu SWG I really miss this class, was so much fun going out into the wilderness and hunting baby creatures and watching them grow up

    2. Skald  - DAoC, fast run speed and swinging a big hammer, what not to like?

    3. Warden - EQ2 She could portal to druid rings, run fast, melee with the right set up, lots of fun

    Trader - Anarchy Online

Use wrangels to zap strenght from monsters to be able to step up in strenght yourself. Because of two separate lines of wrangels, with step up lines of strenght, you could be several times more powerful than your starting position when keeping those wrangels going. Each of them lasted for about 2 minutes if I remmber correctly. They could also sleep / crowd controll and do amazing damage. I belive they could heal aswell (zaping their own life to heal you). Increadibly complex and fun!

    Druid - WOW

Love the varity this class give. It's been thorougly described in other posts here. I play the resto variant, and I love the sheer power of all those HoTs over time combined when the druid is giving it his or her all!

Biotechnitian - Star Wars Galaxies (pre NGE)

I think that was it's name. You go out, sample beast dna and go home to your lab and experiement - making your own beast which you could sell off as a combat pet or mount. Absolutely fantastic class! I just loved SWG as it originally was - going out on trips with several different classes, making camps (with player made luxury tents) and hunting those nasty dinosaur things which were likely to kill you if you werent keeping up.

    1. Controller - City of Heroes. There were lots of flavors of controllers, single target control, AoE, buff, debuffs. But I enjoyed rendering foes helpless even more than defeating them. Doms would maybe beat a controller, but I played the troller more.

    2. Black Orc - Warhammer. You gotta love a tank people just run from when they see you coming as if you were a DPS. They aren't overpowered, but they could crit buff themselves and burst you pretty well for a meat sheild.

    3. Dark Templar - AoC. Demonic power, heavy armor, and blood galore = win. not the most effective class, but they looked so good doing it.

"Never met a pack of humans that were any different. Look at the idiots that get elected every couple of years. You really consider those guys more mature than us? The only difference between us and them is, when they gank some noobs and take their stuff, the noobs actually die." - Madimorga

    1. Mesmer, GUILD WARS:  This is the ultimate "screw with your enemies" class.  Whether it be interrupting spells at a distance, hexing melee classes so that they take damage every time they swing, or, just hanging huge DOTs on your enemies, nothing beats the fun of playing a mesmer.

    2.  Hobbit Burglar, LOTRO:  This is the stealth/ninja/rogue class of LOTRO (though you don't HAVE to be a hobbit).   You have to love any character that can stealth, dual wield, and, when the going gets tough, can Hide in Plain Sight and simply disappear.   All of this and only three feet tall, too!  And, lest I forget, you can pickpocket loot off of mobs before you slice their throat from behind.

    3.  Necromancer, GUILD WARS:  A pet class, where you can actually lead a small division of undead creatures (melee and ranged) into battle.  A debuffer.  DOTter.  Direct damage with spells.  Health stealer.   Blindingly pale porcelain skin.  Gain energy any time something/someone dies on the battlefield.  What more could you ask for?

Hedonismbot: Your latest performance was as delectable as dipping my bottom over and over into a bath of the silkiest oils and creams.

My favorite three classes would be:

3: Shadowknight (EQ1): High threat tank and just a blast to play.

2: Mage (frost) (WoW): LOL, at the silly melee that try to kill you.

1: Herald of Xotli (AoC): a action packed swordmage with a demon form on top.

    Great thread. My own thoughts:

    1. Bard from EQ1 - This is my hands-down favorite class ever. IRL I have no musical talent and would not even look at a bard in D&D. I decided to try the EQ1 Bard and fell in love. Great in both solo and group play, the "twisting" element of songs really added an active part to combat and rewarded skill and timing. Diverse abilities and the "I make ANY group better" aspect only contributed to my enjoyment. EQ2 broke the Bard, badly.

    2. Druid from EQ1 - Another class that I fell in love with. With dealing/DD/SoW/Ports/etc, this was a very versatile class. Kiting. Need I say more? EQ2's Druid was ok but felt too strongly setup as a healer type.

    3. Ranger from DAOC - I love the archery mechanic in DAOC; it was challenging, different, and OP/too weak at different times during the game's lifecycle. The Ranger had that touch of magic (self-buffs) and made for a group solo PVP character for taking down lone enemies. In a deiverse group their self-buffs typically became a waste of points (as other classes had comparable/better to provide to the entire group), but this was a very fun class to play.

    Everquest shaman and enchanter.

Then I'd probably rather mention classes from Dota, or LoL or FFT than WoW. I think WoW classes have far too many abilities.

Love the thread. Lots of great classes over the years. Tough to pinpoint one. But...

Bear Shaman AoC. Love non target AOE heals and good melee dps.

Rogue WoW. My first and only WoW love.

Fury EQ2. Just a cool class. Shapeshifting, heals, dps.

Vanguard: Rogue: closer to a true rogue and not just another DPSer.

WOW: Enhancement Shaman ( pre WOTLK): Used to be very, very fun to play, high utility some small burst, purge and melee WF damage and fast travel as Ghost Dog.

Ultima Online: Faction Tinker Mage: Set traps blow people up, disarm traps, go invis, nuke people.. whats not to like.

    1. pre-cu swg Teras Kasi Master with enough Bounty Hunter skills to take bounties on jedi.  Most fun I've ever had in any game, mmo or not.  I ended up with exactly 300 kills by the time I left swg and I still remember I good many of them even after 5 years has gone by.  I was the master of the dizzy knockdown and keeping people on the ground.  As well, I loved the TK combat animations and the fact that since I was going after jedi players I didn't need to wear armor which meant I could customize my look and not be forced to wear a full suit of composite armor.

    2. CU swg Master Bounty Hunter with combat medic and carbine skills.  Though not as fun as the TKM/BH template I had pre-cu, this template was almost god mode in the CU.  New jedi players didn't stand a chance while even older jedi with better lightsabers were beaten on a regular basis.

    3. WAR Squiq Herder.  I actually liked a lot of the classes WAR had but I was partial to the squig herder.  WAR had some every nice classes...too bad the rest of the game kind of sucked.

Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?

Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.
