I have not played WoW or EQ2, or most new games because my computer cant handle them . i am stuck with neverwinter nights, good game btw. (not mmo)
go to www.gamespot.com and look at every game available now in closer detail.
I REALLY thought WoW looked good, and it blew me off my feet to play it at my friend's house, and i still go play it frequently. if graphics are a huge issue go EQ2, but if gameplay and graphics are both important to you, go WoW.
EQ2 pissed me off, literally. fun is not being chased by an UBER boss for 2 hours then dying.
i say go WoW, addicting.
peace out

My build: Sapphire Radeon HD 4850, Asus P5GC-MX/1333 Motherboard, 4gb G.SKILL DDR2 667MHz RAM, Core 2 Duo e7200 CPU, 250gb Western Digital SATA Harddrive, Windows Vista Home Basic 64-bit.
I think the best pvp atmosphere in any game is Eve-online. It's entirely player driven and is all about killin off other corps. It's a sci fi game not fantasy though
