SteelSeries has announced the release of a new gaming mouse featuring an exterior nod to the Cataclysm expansion for World of Warcraft. The mouse cover is emblazoned with an image evoking the armor plating of Darkwing the Destroyer. According to the press release, the Cataclysm mouse features improved ergonomics and an intuitive button layout.
Armored Comfort and Control
The ergonomically designed SteelSeries World of Warcraft: Cataclysm MMO Gaming Mouse has an intuitive 14-button layout. Its fine tuned ergonomics and button positioning provide players with the ability to comfortably use all the extended buttons. Macros and controls can be assigned to all buttons directly from within the game. Together with its 16-million color illumination options, 4 pulsation levels, the ability to save up to 10 character-linked profiles in the software and 1 profile directly on the mouse, players have a wide range of options to customize their gaming experience.
The mouse retails for $99.99 USD and can be ordered here.

all i can say is

I am the punishment of God...
If you had not committed great sins,
God would not have sent a punishment like me upon you

From what I understand, the mouse was developed with cooperation from Blizzard. It appears to have a boatload of preset WoW-specific macros already installed. Either way, putting World of Warcraft on your product couldn't possible be seen as a -bad- thing.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Doesn't seem very WoW-like imo. I wouldn't even know if the Logo wasn't there. It strangely reminds me of Dead Space, if isaacs helm had red neon, instead of blue.
I'll take my Razer Naga over this any day of the week.
I'm a big ol' fluffy carewolf. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
wow what an ugly mouse o_O I expected more from Blizz...
WHAT THE, EPIC F... Aile, my friend would say the same.
Hey, I like it. Looks very iron-and-magma-ish.

Too ugly, too expensive!
I agree. Looks cool, but is way to expensive for a wired mouse imho.
Yes, I like it too, but not $100.00 worth.
Maybe if you could change the light color to the one of your choice. It's for an MMO game. You would think that they realize the gamer community would be interested in customization.
I dunno. I think the best thing for playing MMOs is a separate Nostromo N52 for your left hand, and maybe a regular mouse.
This thing..I like the styling on it.
The fact that you can adjust it directly from World of Warcraft would be another plus. Want to get some more reviews on comfort and how it actually functions in - game!
Heard the first wow sucked. This one probably sucks too. Stick to 'Razor', and 'Logitech'. for good mouse, and keyboards. nough said. Oh and saitek's stuff is pretty good too.
Choose from 16 million colors, with 4 levels of intensity and pulsation.
Get a life you freaking Gamer.....no no, you don't understand, I'm a Gamer, I have many lives!!
it's not even wireless WTF?
It's supposed to portray death's wing chest plates I believe.
Looks pretty freakin' sweet to me. The Naga has too many buttons, this one seems to be just right.
Of course, explaining to the wife that I have to pay another $100 bucks for my hobby will be interesting especially after I just shelled out $169 for the wireless headset.
Microsoft Sidewinder X8 Mouse....wireless with the ability to recharge WHILE still using it...$79.99
Plantronics .995 Wireless Headset...$54.95....
Ya'll pay way to much just to have it say "Warcraft"
Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising everytime we fall.
true gamers dont use wireless.
Also this mouse is terrible. I sent it back after 2 days.
Yea I agree. Doesn't look too bad. I like the buttons and usable in WoW. But yea the price is bit high although I paid close to 50 for my Logitech and it is 9 buttons. I like it not as cool looking actually when I first looked at it I thought it downright ugly. Anyway I had bought a WoW mouse and then looked and saw reviews on it(think is was a bit more in price) and the reviews were not too good. Took it back without even opening and got the one I have now.
So if I was going to pay that much I would check reviews of people that have actually used it and can say features work and it is worth it.
As for wireless I won't use a wireless mouse or keyboard for gaming. I do not want to be in a raid and find my batteries just died!! I use them on my laptop but not on my gaming comp.
Maybe they should do some kind of contest and give a few away to some of iffy people so we can put it to the test.
Gikku
True that. Used a wireless mouse/keyboard once and hated it. Wired all the way, it just feels right.
As for the mouse, not bad. But $100 is to much, maybe around $70 would be fair.

Er, What?
From the ordering page:
ADVANCED ILLUMINATION
Choose from 16 million colors, with 4 levels of intensity and pulsation.
MULTIPLE PROFILES
Import/export up to 10 profiles with unique illumination for your characters.
So not only can you have your 16 MILLION colors, but you can have your lock pulse a flickering-evil dark purple and your pally hum a brilliant white.
Rather silly if you ask me. Most wireless mice last for months these days and indicate low battery well before they die.
Personally I think this mouse is highly overpriced and they did not do a good job on the design either.
