"Another quantum leap expected with ‘Blade&Soul’ and ‘GuildWars2’ starting from 2011."

    I don't see where it says 2012

    Croc,

No where in that presentation does it say 2012 for GW2.

  • UnlightUnlight Member Posts: 2,540

He's probably referring to the page six revenue graph showing both Blade & Soul and GW2 grouped together under 2012 revenues.  However, three pages later, Blade & Soul is listed specifically with a 2011 release, so really, this isn't confirming anything.  The common theory among the community, which is following GW2's progress very closely, is still for Q2-Q3 2011.

But who knows.  All we have to go on really is pure speculation.  ArenaNet is being infuriatingly coy with dates.

The closest thing is a little bubble that points out that in 2012 GW2 and B&S will make profits even HIGHER... however on the top of that page it says both of these games will start in 2011.

Are these the "recent findings" of which some people are spewing?

     Yes it is.

     Yes it is.

Then I stand by my initial assessment of the anal origins of his assertions.

Yeah, I think the graph on that page is confusing, because the little thought bubble is pointing to the bar of 2012, when they're just saying what their projection for sales will be in that year. But it specifically says above it "STARTING with 2011". So yes, that is when it's coming out. And they're being coy because they don't want to disappoint us :)

You guys really need to understand the english language a bit better.  They expect a lot of revenue beginning in 2011.  Nowhere does it say that revenue is guaranteed to include gw2.  That is just the BEGINNING of the process.  It's also very clear that B&S will be out before gw2.

Yet that same page says that revenue for GW2 starts in 2011... sounds like you're the one who needs the english lesson.

They've been very open about these "micro-stransactions" for vanity items.  This troll needs to try harder.

I would see no reason why NCSoft/ArenaNet would push this game out into 2012.

The beta testing window should be out in the next few months , then after that the game would sure to be released.  I have a feeling that NCSoft/ArenaNet are looking at a Q1/Q2 2011 release window.

    Wildstar (2013) & Elder Scroll Online (2013)

    Playing: Diablo 3, WOW, Far Cry 3 & X-Com.

Enjoyed: WOW 5 1/2 yrs, LOTRO 3yrs, GW 1/2yr, DFO 1yr, EVE Online 3yrs, and Huxley (Beta).

Failed to impress: GW2 3months, Tera Online 6 months (best combat system in any MMO I've played) STO 1/4yr, Aion 1/2yr, AoC 1yr, CO, Fallen Earth, DDO, EQ2 1/2yr, WAR 1/2yr, Lineage 2 and FF XI 1/2yr, FF XIV.

That doesn't change the fact that everything that is microtransactional will pertain to cosmetic and most likely additional character slots as well.

Did you play GW1? If so then you know how the micro-transactions will be.

Right, and mmonooblet pointed out that both games are given a specific release year of 2011 in the caption above the graph.  Also, that bubble may just be referring to all three years which are still forecasts, not just 2012.  The bubble pointer may just have been placed there without too much thought as to what impression it would give to ravenous GW-philes.

We're all still in the wait and see boat though.

This argument really isn't fair since I am much more well-informed than you, but have you ever heard of pre-orders?
