Blizzard Entertainment has released the cinematic introduction trailer for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. The trailer features a look at some of the destruction wrought on Azeroth and is definitely an eye-popping look at what the expansion promises to bring to the game when it is released on December 7th. I think Blizzard plays too much Guild Wars to come up with that dragon idea. Looks good though.

Deathwing is older than guildwars buddy lol and they have had dragons in there games when the guys that made guildwars still worked for them.

To be honest it wasn't as impressive as I thought it was going to be.

LOL all of that is correct apart from when u said that guild wars guys worked for blizzard xD.. Yeah a few of them did..but most didn't. And ppl need to stop saying WOW copied GW or GW copied WOW, both games are unique and different in every aspect of the game apart from having a character and lvling it which is a core for any RPG/MMORPG.

Cool trailer. The Lich King intro totally pwns it though.

This is also my least looked forward to expansion from Blizzard. D2: Lord of Destruction, WC3: The Frozen Thrown, and Wrath of the Lich King have been my favs, in that order too. Cataclysm is pretty much just more of the same to me.

I guess at least this game is still going fairly strong. Maybe the next exspansion, after this, will be worth something, to me. ;)

so he stops at Stromwind in the end, so is SW gonna be his base or something?

sorry, but my knowledge on WoW's lore is poor.. lol

    So What Now?

Now Deathwing will destroy half of Azeroth in the matter of minutes.

Two years from now, adventurers easily farm Deathwing in groups of 10.

Who's going to stop the insanely powerful adventurers?

    QTF.

    As for the trailer itself..

Anyone remember the mage slamming fireballs at the infernal climbing up the tower? Yes epic trailers were epic.  This one, while cool, doesn't stand up to it's predecessors.

Really nice cinematic. But that is Blizzard's trademark to have stunning cinematics. it wil be intresting to see how Deathwing will change the world though. And I love that the action is taken back to Northern Kingdoms and Kalimdor.

TweFoju no Deathwing will not have his homebase in Stormwind. But I advise you to take a walk in the park there. It will not stay for long. Deathwing will wreck havoc on anyone allied with the Night-Elf's.

Agreed, I actually found it to be pretty mediocre compared to the TBC intro or WOTLK intro.

Don't like the itro at all...it ressembles the quality of WoW, going down......

Lol@ blizzard. Another lore murder! The whole reason Deathwing wears that armor is that without it his body would have been ripped to shreads by the demonsoul. It was forged and bolted onto him before the war of the ancients. Last I checked, the war of the ancients didn't occur sometime after WOTLK. Also, his goblin armorsmiths seemed to have been replaced by humans!

    @Enix1

You might want to read up as well. The undue pressures and damage his molten body does to the "armor" on a constant basis requires it to basically keep being reforeged and reattached. What may have been attached thousands of years ago when he originally started wearing it to keep his body from destroying itself would have melted away, thus needing to be replaced. :)

    weaksauce indeed.

a step back from the good movies they use to make.

THAT is the lameness of it all. They present some uber mob, but then normal people will kill him anyway, and not only in 2 years. Sometimes I just with the evil mobs would win. (Would't THAT be an epic way to end WOW? Evil won, game over. haha)

Google for ingame shots, in the real game graphics the dragons looks QUITE unimpressive. Someone placed him into Stormwind and he looks more like some big pet. Heck my Krayt Dragon pet from SWG from the old CH days looked more menacing!

Maybe the story will lead to the raid "beating" him (or getting done with the fight) but at the end he wipes the raid.

The actual fact is that Ex-Blizzard employees left blizzard and formed ArenaNet. Who knows how many of them created GW and are GW2 but being that ArenaNet was founded by them says allot. Quality. I think thats why we are seeing so many unique and quality stuff in the GW2 demos.

As far as Deathwing, that was one of the original lore pieces of Warcraft. If memory serves me right Deathwings power was forged in his armor. During somepoint in the war it was removed rendering him weak allowing the heroes to force him below the earths surface. I dont know if they explained it in the video since I am at work and this PC has no sound, but it looks to me that someone has found all the pieces of the armor and reforged it so that Deathwing can once again roam and reign the land once again with his unlimited power.

See, thats one thing that annoys me in WoW.

You get this big, badass evil being who is wrecking havoc throughout the world, destroying the heroes of the world only to be killed by a group of nobodies.

Why do they actually have to 'kill' the evil guy? Why not make it that they beat his ass back, causing him to retreat and come back sometime later? I mean you could easily defeat him and have him come back in a later expansion even more pissed off, or have the expansion focused on a group trying to free him from some other-worldly prison. The way Blizz is going about it, they will easily run out of the cool bad guys...

As for the intro cinematic; It was neat and all, but just didn't seem to have that awesome 'oh sweet!' feel the others had...

There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"

not a bad trailer at all,but like ya'll are say'n..not as epic as the first or second. but tbh I think any FIRST trailer of any mmo/video game is MORE EPIC than the rest usually ,because it was THE FIRST. LOL when I first played WoW I watched that trailer almost every other time I logged in.

Where do you get this from? The whole reason he uses the metal he does it because it can stand up to the pressure of the demonsoul, if it couldn't he would be dead. He can't just take it off and get it fixed whenever he feels like it, lol..
