Is there any good MMORPG out there?

Is it my imagination or isnt there any good MMORPG out there, any game that is actually fun to play? maybe longer then a few hours?

In the past days and weeks I have tried like every half-way decent MMORPG out there ( I must admit, I didnt try most of the pre 2003 generation games since my old game is from that time and you just cant enter a game a decade after it was released) but most of them is just random crap to make money from twelve year old kids.

There we have Games that show off with cool its "cool" Graphic, having HD videos all over Youtube and co. - which you quit after 5minutes of playing because the basic concept including even the movement and simple basics like attacking are simply annoying and suck.

The other games which are commonly called free to play games (Im not saying its the case with all of them, but most of them) are cheap looking MMORPGs with an asian touch and great skill animations giving the feeling of action - sadly, if you are ok with the weird laggy/ half-assed wasd movement, you see that this game is full of Bots , farmers and gold sellers which are rly annoying and if your not allready annoyed by the Gameboy like graphic your about to log off allready.

The third Category of MMORPGs are the greatly announced Pay to Play Games which actually offer nice Graphics, good basic gameplay and somewhat of an Service to avoid Bots and Goldsellers - but, as for me atleast - they totally lack content.

There is a basic idea about which a game was build, lets say "charakters have wings!" , some nice animations , monsters and a currency was added and done. Those games simply lack content and dont offer anything to keep the player playing the game.

Now some people would like to say "Play WoW!" - well I considered that since WoW graphic isnt the worst out there and content wise it appears not to lack alot - its not the game for everyone.

So what Im wondering about is - why are game developer doing their job half assed all the time? I know they arent their to provide me personal with my perfect MMORPG but most MMO's have so obvisious lack's of everything that you come to wonder why they started this project in the first place..

I dont mean anyone to read all the crap I wrote now in my crappy english but I just had to write down whats on my mind after desperatly searching for a new game.

I love MMO`s - why dont they love me?

I don't know what to say, perhaps you're burned out on the whole genre? Games like WoW, Guild Wars, LOTRO, DAoC have massive amounts of content. I don't know how much time you have at your disposal but Guild Wars alone can last a human being with a job or school-occupations more than a year just to se it all, let alone becoming decent in PvP. WoW on the other hand is a content-monster that provides three totally seperate game-experiences in one: PvP, Solo PvE (don't laugh, there a many people who played this constantly twinking since launch), Raiding/Dungeons. All of them alone can be very timeconsuming, let alone combined. Nowadays there are way to many MMOs out there for anyone's timebudget.

It sounds like you haven't found "your" game or perhaps MMOs are not for you at this time.  On the technical side, software development isn't easy and there is no perfect software out there that are bug free.  Some developers may indeed release their software too early and call it a beta prematurely.  On the content / design / game mechanic side, that could be anyone's guess as what's good for one player is crap for others (ie.  some people really just insist on WASD movement and refuse to consider anything else).

I can't really recommend any particular one for you to try since I haven't tried many ever since I started playing my current MMO almost 3 years ago.  It's a F2P with relatively good graphics and movement that is entirely with the mouse (some people really hate that and insist on wasd).  It has very little bots (there's no need due to the introduction of a new mechanic), gold farmers (sometimes wish there were some due to the recent massive deflation), and gold sellers (I've only seen one during the past week) but since there is some grind, I don't think I'll take the chance of recommending it.

If you're still looking, perhaps you could try games without reading other's opinions about it first as it creates a bias.
