I build Jeeps. I'm building my Charger. I'm a Teacher's Assistant for a 4th grade class. I attend a college. I'm prepping the snowmobiles for winter. I roofed a house last week. I took a girl to dinner and a movie last Friday evening. So, yea I do have a life. Don't tell me how to spend my time.

Stupid kids just never know when to keep their mouths closed.

During two weeks, I only managed to barely get to level 20. imageimageimage

I personally think this game is perfectly suited for those who do not grind all day. Like myself.

how do you make time for all that when you play 15 hours a day? Just wondering...

Or did you just make that entire post up. Anyhow, im not your psychyatrist so, good luck to you in your future endevors (wich most likely will consist of playing wow until you die of malnutrition).

How could this possibly affect you gameplay? You wont even see this people most of the time until you get to there level. Quit griping about nothing.
    2) Game not very challenging and its getting old fast.
This is were i think your wrong. The game is plenty challening i die almost on a reglar basis. Try intances and elite quests.
    3) Hunters are like cockroaches, cant go by a minute without seeing one, if you are Alliance.
This doesent make the game bad. It ALSO does not affect you in anyway stop whining.
    4)Where are the priests?!
    5) Class imbalances, some are way too powerful while others are so-so.
I find them to be quite balanced. If you are inept at playing one class perhaps you should try playing a differnt one.

I wonder f were playing the same game, Even when i wasent on the rp server i had NO problems with this.
    8) What other reason is there too team up besides just doing instances or some group quest.
What other reason is there to group? Tea parties perhaps?

omg enough of this "I have a life because I play WoW". Who cares if you have a life or not, why do you people have to prove so? I honestly dont care if you play 50 hours a week, you can still have a life at that. You all sound like little kids, "No im more popular than you image". Grow up.

I play for about 5 hours a day and am only 28th level.

I spend most of my time exploring and doing every quest I can find.

Not once have I gone out purely to get a level, the old EQ grind is not fun (was a challenge first time round, now grinding is just dull).

I havent seen anyone above 40th level but the guild said they saw someone who was 52nd.

I absolutely adore WoW because the quests are fun and different, at times I am surprised at the detail (gone into quests) and stunned by the graphics.

If you want to max out as fast as possible, go ahead but you will miss 75% of the game.

I personally am in no rush, got plenty of time.

Now playing: VG (after a long break from MMORPGS)
Played for more than a month: Darkfall online, Vanguard SOH, Everquest, Horizons, WoW, SWG, Everquest II, Eve

    This quote is mostly wrong...

It is challenging just not as challenging. Obviously this person didn't get a high enough lvl to know what's what. I love it when someone plays a game for 2 weeks then they are the expert. Bugs? What mmorpg doesn't have bugs when it first comes out, gimmie a break. Some classes are overpowered and I play a hunter myself, don't like see'n all the hunters out there, it's almost enough to make me switch classes but, I'm so far into this one. Anyway, I'm glad this guy isn't in my game anymore.

you don't meet people like that unless your a ass, and people are rude to you because of it, and then are like omg why does everyone hate me /cry. (not saying you are)

its very easy to say "omg its full of assholes" okay so whats the ratio?

i have a level 41 hunter, and a level 19 warrior, I have met 5 assholes MAX out of all the time i spent playing.

Why? because I'm not mean to people.

now about guild wars replacing WoW? heh... it couldnt replace atari... no offense but I've tried it, its horrible. Horrible camera, horriiiible community, boring combat. It was just awful. Even if you say "well its a alpha/beta/whatever" so was wow, and it was alot beter even back then.

I feel stupider every time I read these forums.

I'm level 38 currently, I play about 20 hours a week, and the game is plenty of challenging.

I'm sorry you don't feel challenged when you are fighting in the newbie mine outside of goldshire, or when you're still stuck in the newbie area in Dun Morogh. I'm sorry you don't feel challenged when you don't want to explore outside of your main city. I bet you're one of those players that don't even bother to read the quests you just ask " Where's soandso! "

    " How do i do this?! "

I play on Argent Dawn. One of the most populated servers, if not the MOST populated server. If anywhere, this server should have the biggest " pool " of asshats out there due to just sheer numbers. But I'll tell you what, this community has been more helpful and more close together than I've ever been in any MMORPG. I played EverQuest for 5 years, and DAoC for 3 years. I played on Nimue and Percival in DAoC, and that is what got me into RP servers.

Maybe you didn't choose the correct class, maybe you didnt' choose the correct race or starting side, maybe you're just a troll looking for some flame bait.

Anyways. I'd like to say I'm not biased, but i'd be lying. World of Warcraft is THE best MMORPG I have ever played. I have ALL of them except AC2 and FFXI.

The games population will NOT fall. It is at a steady incline. Two nights ago the population was at 130,000 players CURRENTLY ONLINE. After the Holidays when the new content patch goes through, and the reviews are bolsted by the big gaming sites and magazine companies, the games popularity will sky rocket.

Once it's Euro/Asian release happends, there will be record breaking numbers. You will see.

I think all MMORPG's populations fall off. Whether it be people not liking it, not what they expected, or whatever, populations always fall. Not saying it won't still have HUGE community, but saying it won't fall really isn't true.

ok the UI is not gonna be similar in any way....I saw a pic of the game while someone was playing and the UI is different by WAY MUCH!!!......so don't be talking about it likes the games are gonna be similar in anyway.......

the game is a huge hit also....some people bad mouthing the game on here doesn't mean the world hates this game at all....and if you ask me...GW will not replace WOW at all....because I have no problems with the community at all...the crafting/questing is awesome....PvP is fun....and there is alot to do.......

and what if you think WoWs graphics suck....then how do GW's graphics look any better if they are similar? think you should check youe wording alittle bit...

GW does not have the same design because GW is almost completely instanced...where as WoW is not....there are not the same races....skills...spells....and stuff......GW you get 2 classes...and if i saw right...you only get 4 spells per class....

And let me ask you this.....if your not willing to play or try this game...then what gives you the right to critique or comment on it....

I am level 50 right now and still enjoying the game, finding tons of new areas to explore, hunt etc., loving just exploring and finding beautiful scenery, dungeons..this game is a blast..quit your complaining and get leveling !

  • blazerothblazeroth Member Posts: 62

Interesting posts all the way around.

Here is the reality - in WoW, you can level grind. Why? Because the XP points for mobs are high. I said that from day one that I felt they were too high.

In City of Heroes this XP is a pipe dream. I would love to get 100 XP points just for killing a regular mob at my own level.

Now - I am not complaining, I am just stating facts. The XP is high, and should be throttled down, IMHO. Maybe by 10%. Not sure what that does to the existing population of players, but that is what I would do. Maybe even 15%.

As far as gameplay goes, if you grind, and play 5-10 hours a day, you are going to level like a madman and probably get to 60 quickly. For me, I played over Thanksgiving weekend, and took two days off to play (playing two back to back 4 days marathons).

However - I did this so that I COULD have a life outside of WoW. I needed to immerse myself in it, play it until I passed out, so that I could pace myself going forward. My high char is L34.

Now, to slow things down a bit, I have two other chars that I am working as well (both L11), and plan on starting 4 more (all Horde baby).

In CoH, I play 8 toons, and alternate between them. That stops me from getting too uber too fast. I want to do the same thing in WoW, but there is a difference. I want an uber char in case the alliance gets too uppity and I need to bring in some death to send them back to their wretched land. Eventually all of my chars will be uber, but I anticipate this taking 3-6 months minimum.

And for me, I want to start playing CoH again.

And I am tracking Imperator as well, that looks cool. After that Vanguard. Inbetween, City of Villains? Or maybe a stint with EQ2 just for the hell of it. Just to say, I have been there.

In other words, if you are a junkie, don't max out w/ just one game. Buy several. If you must play 20 hours a day, play different ones. Give the Saga of Ryzom a chance, for example.

This might be the case turbo but its few and far between.. Most of the population is not even close to the lvl cap.. The lvl cap that will be increased in time.
    2) Game not very challenging and its getting old fast.
LOL did I hear this right? So you telling me you never died to any of the creeps that inhabit WOW? How about when you went to DM, Gnomeregan, Udan, or the SW instances... Never died there either I take it..... just whipped right through there and soloed ever thing yourself..... Or maybe you never even been to any of those places and are just talking out your rear.. Maybe you never even played the game...
    3) Hunters are like cockroaches, cant go by a minute without seeing one, if you are Alliance.
Your point? is this some how Blizzards fault as well?
    4)Where are the priests?!
There everywhere maybe you need to look.
    5) Class imbalances, some are way too powerful while others are so-so.
Only classes that need some loving are Warrior and Druid and there getting some in the next patch so say the devs... But there still far from underpowered... And there is NO overpowered class atm.. Not one... If your looking at this from a PVP stand point perhaps you ought to go download some skill and then you will see ever class can be killed if you know what the hell your doing.
    6) Bugs, bugs, bugs, All I heard was that WoW was almost bug free.  Well it isn't and its no big surprise.
Its the first month.. I take it that you dont play MMORPG's that much.
    7) The community for the most part sucks, reminds me of Diablo all over again.  Seems like all the battlenet kiddies all jumped on this bandwagon.
Community is a hell of a lot better then what it used to be... And here is a newsflash there is no MMORPG that is without its kiddies... NOT A SINGLE ONE
    8) What other reason is there too team up besides just doing instances or some group quest.
PVP, friendship, guilds, helping each other out, being social.
    9) Game too easy but Devs tweaked it a little but still to freaking easy.
LOL agian whats this easy crap... are you fighting mobs under you?.. I want to see you prove this crap,, Give me the server your on and you name and ill make a toon and follow you around.. I want you to show me how everything is so easy and how you solo every creep you see.

Believe the hype and you too well get very disappointed, if you play WoW thinking its the second coming of games you will.  Seems alot of people get sucked up by the hype and in the beginning you will love the game but just like City of heros it gets old fast.  At least for me and my guildie friends.  Guess Matrix Online will be getting my money and I will be dropping this game fast.

"Guess Matrix Online will be getting my money and I will be dropping this game fast"..

Matrix Online?  bwhahahahaha  have fun with the 100 people that will be playing with you in that crap of a game...

WOW is the best game out period, nothing even comes close.. You can choose to belive me or you can choose to believe this numnut that probably never even played the game.. In the end its up to you and I really could care less, not like we are hurting for people on servers like various other MMORPG's.

the game is a huge hit also....some people bad mouthing the game on here doesn't mean the world hates this game at all....and if you ask me...GW will not replace WOW at all....because I have no problems with the community at all...the crafting/questing is awesome....PvP is fun....and there is alot to do.......

and what if you think WoWs graphics suck....then how do GW's graphics look any better if they are similar? think you should check youe wording alittle bit...

So bury your head in the sand then?  That is a classic fanboi action, as long as a fanboi is having fun now then everything is ok.  I was saying the same thing about CoH, in the beginning how easy it was.  Fanbois would just yell/flame away that I needed to fight harder monsters.  Basically mobs that were meant for groups could be taken by a single over-powered archtype.  No one wanted to see the writing on the wall because "Hey the game is fun, geared for the casual players, the I have a life yada yada yada" crowd.

People think I am bashing WoW because I hate it and want to see it die, well I DON'T.  I want it to succeed, and I have some concerns about the game and I want it to live a long life.  It's crazy how the fanbois get so defensive about their WoW game.  I say something that might improve the game for better and they get into a hissy fit like little kids because someone takes the blinders off and doesnt follow the cattle. If you did have a life, would it even matter what anyone said about WoW.  But no, if anyone is critical about the game these fanbois act like someone just killed their dog or something.  And you say I should get a life?

Guess some of the hacking diablo/battlenet-type players will never get this.
