But there are also women who do cos play for the enjoyment of it. And men as well.

I actually remember seeing quite a few lovely women, dressed up, all on the arms of guys, dressed up, who looked like they needed to cut back on the pizza.

    But that's just one recollection.

i ll stick with this but i think u guys are a bit naive too.

Tralak, dude you must not get out much because I've encountered plenty of good looking women that play video games either console or pc. It seems you simply choose to base your opinion off of your limited encounters and basically stereotype people who play video games as a short, overweight kids with bad acne. I'm not trying to bash you, but dude it's kinda hard when you say something stupid like that. Haven't you ever heard the saying, "You can't judge a book by its cover."?

Maybe it's cause you're young or not a social person, but just because someone looks like a particular stereotype doesn't mean they are and I have several friends to prove that. My friend Lou looks like one of the dudes on that show Jersey Shore, but the guy is an encyclopedia of Star Wars knowledge, he's read every book written about the series. My friend's sister is a hot hair dresser and kind of a girly girl, but she is hardcore into shooter games and dedicates her time off to skrim with her clan in ranked clan matches.  I mean just because you have never encountered a good looking gamer doesn't nessecarily mean they don't exist, it just means you aren't looking or you just don't care to that's all I'm sayin.

lol.. pretty obvious looking at these posts that next to nobody on these forums have ever attended a convention before.  you should see the after hours parties at dragon*con.  Then again, you have to be 21 and up for most of those so I guess a lot of you have to use your imaginations :)

Nahhhh, get with the times man. Think of all the soccer moms that were being quite vocal about their arousal with respect to a 17 year old Taylor Lautner (Twilight movies). Yucky stuff I tell ya, but it's out there.

These may be the only forums in the world where geek gamers could find fault with girls dressed up in fantasy costumes.

You people complain about this and all I can envision is comic book guy saying "Worst Bliz-Con ever".

I just cant get the hang of stuff like that leave the game where it belongs in the game and at least try to get a real live outside of games....sure some of them were nice to look at not denying that but still

Maybe i am alone with my opinion maybe i just cant go with the time i dunno but if i see a person who is not payed for dressing up like that running around in there game costumes my first thought is poor thing she/he should get help

This from someone who's still playing FFXIV.

lol people who play WoW don't get to throw stones about MMO's. Sorry.

"lol people who play WoW don't get to throw stones about MMO's. Sorry."

Why? At least WoW works. It's the most popular MMO to date, based on the sheer number of people who disagree with your sentiments by giving blizzard their money each month. But, hey' its fashionable to hate success :-)

As for the Girls, I do agree there is a bit of a double-standard, but then these girls are barely wearing clothes and pointed ears, while the star trek crowd requires a bodysuit and pointed ears. Sex sells /shrug unless you ask a feminazi but they are usually butt ugly, so consider the source :-)

at 2:41 in the video, the Blonde Blood-elf on the far left is beautiful. Her eyes are just absurdly blue! and her costume is one of the best imho. she might be a booth babe, but so what!

Has this devolved into a WoW-hate thread like every other thread on these forums yet? The Alexstraza costume was pretty aweomse.

That's right kids, just because something is popular that makes it good ......

I think what he's saying is, WoW works, therefore it is popular. Not the other way around. WoW isn't everyone's cup of tea, but to deny its quality just because it's "popular" is delusional.

To assign quality just because of popularity is equally delusional.

If it hasnt it will.  Popularity breeds contempt and compile that with the next two games that were some competition (very little but some) going F2P it pretty much has the haters in a froth.  If you hate WOW there aint a hell of a lot left to play.

WOW isnt great because it has 12 million players. WOW has 12 million players because its great.

I salute some of the creativeness that went into making the costumes. The orc girls with the very realistic green tint was great. Cosplay for instance is huge in Japan. They book whole coaches and attend the anime conventions all dressed up. I admire these people able to just enjoy another aspect of a hobby.
