I have no idea why they are dragging their feet. I can care less how many wow haters are on these boards, I started playing wow simply because of War Craft. If Blizzard made WC4 and set up the network as they did Star Craft, I wouldn't need wow. Nothing would please me more if they also made online game campaigns for WC in an RPG format where you gain rewards and achievements. There is so much they could do with WC4 I can't even begin to start. Anyone have info on this?

I used to play WC3. I really liked it as an rts and(dont hate me) I think it is much better than Starcraft.
I do believe you might have answered your own question.
You're asking them to create a single player title that they probably receive no more than 25 bucks revenue for it, when it might draw players away from a game that they direct bill 15.00 a month to every month?
I can see why they might drag their feet a bit on that project.

The reason they arent doing WC 4 is because they're milking roughly hundred million (100) $ a month from WoW, so what's the need for WC 4. And how could they possibly do anything with Warcraft anymore since they've ruined the whole series and lore with WoW, unless they made a prequel to orcs & humans.
This, dont expect to see something like that until they cant milk there massive fanboy base monthly.
And if they do bring it out chances are it will have a monthly fee if they still have WC mmos going.

This is purely baseless thinking out loud stuff, but I don't think they are going to work on a next sequel of the Warcraft RTS since it shares its lore with World of Warcraft. That would mean putting the progression of the lore in World of Warcraft on hold (which is impossible), branching out (either a parallel story or a different world accessed through a Dark Portal) or revisiting an unexplored section of the lore before World of Warcraft.
Hmm. When I come to think of it, a parallel story could bring some interesting twists, though I don't see it altering any major 'known' spots in Azeroth.
Also SC2 is more of a personal story of the main character. The previous sequels, or at least the one of WC3, focused on larger scale wars, invasions, exploration without being attached to the main characters as much. So a parallel story in some uncharted land in WC4 could be feasible.
I don't like RTS.
I might like an adventure WC game or a WC BG game on consoles.
But indeed no one is waiting for WC4 except for a few nostalgic fans.

The RTS and MMORPG fan base are not the same in the slightest. WoW is always going to have it's hardcore support base and so would WC4 . They could only make more money as many who left wow would buy WC4. I got into the wow lore because of WC and so did a lot of other players.
