World of Warcraft: New Community Site Coming

Blizzard devs have announced that the landscape of Azeroth isn't the only 'Cataclysm'ic change coming. A new community site for World of Warcraft will be launching soon that will resemble the current Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty site.  Included in the change will be a new forum system. For approximately two weeks after the new site's launch, both sets of forums will remain open. After two weeks, all World of Warcraft forums will be contained on the new site.

Azeroth isn't the only landscape that's changing. In preparation for the upcoming launch of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, we'll soon be releasing our new World of Warcraft community site which will provide players with a host of new features including blog posts, a robust game guide, and brand-new forums! If you want an idea of how this new site will look and operate, head on over to our StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty community site (http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/).

We currently plan to launch a live preview of the new World of Warcraft community site in early November, and will begin to transition over to the new forum system at that time. To make this transition as smooth as possible, we want to provide a tentative timeline for how we'll be phasing posting access from these forums (the ones on which you're currently posting) to the new forums.

Why do I get the feeling that Blizzard is going to force RealID even more using this new 'community' site?

What ever will be, will be.

All RealID requirements have been removed and are now optional.

Not surprised by that.  I hope they'll let us create a 'username' that is not REALID crap.  It's what ever other forum/group online does.

I'm sure it will be WoW-ish in color.

They really should just leave the old stuff were it's at and move only current info.  Who cares, except out of curiosity what the spec was on a warrior in 2008?
